The hotel provided excellent value for money. May be worth considering paying a little extra for a pool/sea view although we did not do this and the room was fine.

The resort itself was nice although noticably busier on a weekend. Only a selection of places to take children marineland was fab for the younger child, would get expensive tho if you wanted to do an activity daily. Beach was good and clean although sun beds and brollys were expensive and no other ways of getting any shade for the younger ones. Local english pub Rovers return a laugh spent most evenings there.

My family and i really enjoyed our holiday here. It is very clean and well kept. All the shops, bars and resturants are on one long road from santa susanna through to malgrat. The beach is clean but gritty and the beach does shelf quite quickly to the sea, not making it very safe for young children. There is a little amusement park with trampolines ect. It is idealy situated near lots of other resorts which are very easy to get to using the train, which is cheap and efficient. we went to Calella and Blanes. The weekly market is large and easy to get to. We also went on the tractor train to santa susanna old town up the hill, lovely view and great driver! Lovely resort for families.
Would visit this resort again.

The hotel was seperated from town via the train line and subway but is right on the beach. In the daytime the town was really nice, normal football shirt shops, lots of haggling (great fun!)good bargains and a weekly market. The train station is in town and it only costs 6euro return to get to Barcelona, well worth it (packed lunch free from hotel) we went to the Neu Camp simply enough and only 10euros to go round, lots of steps and it takes all day -it's fantastic! There were lots of bars in town with the world cup on, we weren't really into that so can't comment but I guess there was enough for twenty somethings looking for fun!!! The tourist information in town was exceptional and generally a lovely little town.

The resort was clean and you can tell the locals take good care of the area. The resort entertainment looked good, whenever we passed other hotels/bars there was always something going on. The beach is also clean however there is no sand - it is shingle. This wasnt a massive problem except we had a 2 year old with us and it is slightly uncomfortable walking on this barefoot. Sandcastles are a bit difficult to make too haha! You can easily get parasols and sunbeds on the beach for 4 euros each. Got quite busy but thats expected! The sea gets deep really quickly and the waves were quite strong so it may not be ideal for smaller children.

The resort was really clean. It is not a resort to visit if you want nightclubs etc Its more for family's and couples. The railway station is near and you can take a train to Barcelona. Its 22euros for a bono train ticket. This will get 2 people to Barcelona twice with 2 train journeys left!

The resort itself, we found plenty to do for the week, we visited other places via the excellent aforementioned Train, Marineland by free bus, and also went to local Markets in Malgrat and Santa Susanna.

Other spots of course included the Park and Amusement areas for my Grandson.I find Spanish Parks particularly for the little ones fantastic and far more in abundance than in the UK.So there you have my view, I have said I would visit the Hotel again, to offer it my support. It's a small but friendly place doing its best in a fierce market.

Spain is a big country, and I rarely revisit Hotels, in fact,I have only ever done it once, 'cos there is a lot more to see in Spain.. and the World.

Malgrat de Mar is delightful with really nice cafe bars where you can sit and watch the world go by over a glass of wine or a good cup of coffee. You can enjoy walking or jogging along quite a long stretch of promenade. The beach is shingle and can be very hard on unsuspecting feet but the water is as blue!! The people were on the whole so friendly; just the start of the season? I dont know but yes I would go back .

Lovely resort shame about the hotel! lovely beach, promenade & people. Train runs from Girona to Brcelona and is very cheap & handy. Really nice cafe bars which serve coffee or wine or whatever.
Not a mad overbearing place but somewhere to relax at least at the start of the season.
