Just returned from a 6 night break at Royal Sun. I emailed in advance to request top floor room, they didn't reply and gave us 1st floor. A couple checking in ahead of us had requested low floor due to height phobia and had been given 5th floor so we exchanged rooms.

Room was very spacious and more than adequate, we had side sea view, balcony tiny. Loved having the fridge in the room. Despite being AI we bought decent wine and were able to chill it.

Food was not of 4star standard, there was never any show cooking or themed nights. The choices were limited especially veg. However, we are far from fussy eaters and always found a meal. Fresh fruit at breakfast was halved oranges, bananas, melon and presentation was poor.

Location fantastic and for this alone we would return out of season. We spent all day on the beach which was literally on your door step and loved that we could take our drinks onto beach.

Hotel was very busy and people had been more than once.

The location of this hotel is brillant, you can take your drinks on the beach its that close, the rooms are in badly need of a refurb. They are like a seventies flashback, the food is also a bit hit and miss, staff really friendly.

All in all I would visit again, but I think it should be rated a 3 star.

Hi..all.....stayed at this hotel for 4 nights from the 8th of May..I wish it had been much longer.

The hotel its self was kept spotless clean.

The hotel food was quite good plenty of choice.

The hotel is situated very close to the small shopping area with a train line passing the hotel but in the hotel you could not hear the noise.

Hotel staff without exception where great all ways with a smile the smallest detail attended to at once.

The entertainment was o.k. typical for Spain, parrot show, flamenco dancers, kiddies show .e.tc.

Would I visit this hotel again.......certainly would roll on September when I will go again..fantastic holiday.

Regards.........john-doe......

This was my second stay at this hotel and it was NOT disappointing. As before, the staff, cleanliness and food were great.

The hotel is on the beach and a short walk to the railway station. Malgrat has a good shopping avenue and is only a relaxing walk from the hotel. There are a small selection of shops close by. The railway line runs along the back of the hotel but we did not hear it, even when outside. There was a really good selection of food at all meals and drinks were available in the restaurant this year.

There was entertainment every evening but to be honest we were so exhausted from sun bathing and site seeing, we didn't go.

The hotel had a direct lightening strike on the Saturday evening and although the electricity went off for some time, emergency lights were on in every corridor and balcony. The poor chaps caught between floors in one of the lifts were kept calm and released from their glass prison promptly.

I will go back to this hotel again and look forward to another stay, very soon.

We've just got back from the Royal Sun today. The hotel is based in Santa Susannah and is right on the beach front.

The back of the Hotel is next to a railway line and although the trains ran every half hour throughout the day and night, the noise didn't bother us too much. We were first placed on the ground floor right next to the lifts.

The rooms were very clean and fairly large but we asked to be moved as the noise from the kids playing around in the lifts to all hours drove us insane ! The back of the hotel is on a busy strip and it can get quite noisy until the early hours. My advice would be to ask for a room with a pool view which should resolve the noise issue as it overlooks the sea and not the strip with the bars and shops.

The cleaners work really hard to keep the hotel looking immaculate. The bar staff worked equally as hard but (with the odd exception) were miserable and rarely served you with a smile.

The food was usually quite good although sometimes hit and miss, you will never go hungry. There's a good choice and an excellent salad selection. The all inclusive basis is very good value for money and I would recommend it to anyone as the drinks were quite expensive in the hotel and surrounding bars.

You can drink in any of the H Top group hotels within the area and can also book at Reception to eat at any of them the next day. We found this invaluable as the weather was really bad (not normal for this time of year) and saved us money when we were visiting other nearby resorts.

We booked the medieval night at the Hotel. They can offer you tickets for 12 euros rather than the 47.50 you would pay anywhere else. It was a great night and well worth the money we paid for the discounted tickets and the entertainment in the hotel wasn't usually upto much and catered mainly for Spanish and older guests.

Overall a good holiday which was spoilt slightly by the weather. Probably wouldn't return as been to Costa Brava many times now and want a change.

The hotel was lovely and clean. friendly staff especially bar staff Jimmy and one that looked like Peter Crouch.

Food was pretty good plenty of choice and hot

Entertainment was a bit sparse but then it was the last week of the season

Only problem we found was the lift stuck between floors and the night porter could not speak English my son had to ring my husband on his mobile to get him out. Polish manager very appologetic but that is no comfort when you are frightened of heights.

The Royal Sun was spotless, the cleaners where never far away and our rooms cleaned every single day to a high standard.

The staff were strict at not allowing you into the hotel being wet from the pool.

We stayed at this hotel on all inclusive basis and the standard of food was high. You would never leave the restaurant hungry as there was always something to eat if you did not want any of the main courses. Each night pork, chicken and fish with different sauces were on offer with a different array of desserts. We all enjoyed the food apart from my 12 year old who is very fussy and had a diet of chips.

The location of this hotel was the best. Right on the beach. Nobody could ever say that the location of the beach was not top class.

Entertainment not too good.

The hotel is very clean but plenty of ants in rooms the breakfast was never hot and was always coverd in oil the food was the same day in day out not very good and never hot or coocked properly. If you can eat anything thats cold and not coocked long enough you'll be allright. Plenty of salad.

The entertainment which said full i'm still waiting for it, the kids disco if you blinked your eyes you missed it. The entertainment on night was allways some type off organist or singer or don't forget the disco the same cd over and over again the DJ always looked happy.

The drinks ok.

Location right on beach.

The hotel is a 4 star only because of that I would grade it as a 2 star I've stayed in better 2 star in Turkey and thats saying something.
