The new-build resort of Novo Sancti Petri is well known for its high number of golf courses and hotels, more than 20 of which are firmly targeted at the luxury market with four or five stars. Golf courses of note include the 36-hole Club de Golf Novo Sancti Petri, the 18-hole Club de Golf Melia Sancti Petri and the 9-hole Club de Golf Campano. Those not interested in golf will be relieved to know there is easy access to a wide sandy beach while the resort avoids much of the intense heat of the rest of the Mediterranean thanks to the strong Atlantic breezes it attracts.

Novo Sancti Petri is very manicured and caters mostly for golfers it seems as it is surounded by golf courses everywhere. At least the area is kept quite Spanish, ie no tacky English eateries etc. like you see on the other costas. You can use it for a base of relaxation on hte beautiful beach and Cadiz Jerez, Seville and Gibraltar are all near for day trips. There is not a lot of English spoken so you might need a phrase book.

Excellent resort if you are looking for sun and relaxation. If you look for exciting nightlife you will have to drive to the Sancti Petri beach in front of the castle. And this is only in the summer, when there are lots of spaniards vacationing in this area. The rest of the year it is quite dead, but if you like beautiful beaches and just to relax, this is the place for you. The complete opposite to the Costa del Sol, in a good way!
