We have just returned from the San Fermin hotel.
The rooms are basic but comfortable. On the whole the rooms are clean. Towels changed every day.
Breakfast was good as there was eggs, bacon, baked beans, cereal and toast also different fruits. The evening meal although there were plenty of food with ample choices after the fourth evening it began to get a bit boring.
The hotel is situated on a steep hill, which could be a problem for the elderly or people with restricted mobility, was not really a problem for us there is a nice pub half way up so you can always stop for a drink.
The staff were very friendly and polite most could speak English.
As we did not see much of the entertainment cannot really comment on this.
We would visit this hotel again.

Just arrived back from the San Fermin. Got to say we found the hotel very nice - the cleanliness was first class. The food was ok - my husband is quite fussy and there was only one evening he hardly ate anything. I am "almost a veggie" and I ate really well. Found the staff to be a bit miserable - didn't smile much.
On the second day I slipped in the shower and knocked myself out! Was nearly "Goodnight Vienna"! The Manager did everything he could and we got moved to a better room. Although when he saw us the next day - he asked if my husband was feeling better now!!
We didn't find the location a problem - we are in our late forties and not very fit but yes - the elderly would struggle although there were lots getting up there ok. Thought it was near enough to all the best bars and cafes, etc.
The big problem was paying for the sunbeds - 2 euros I think - we lay in the garden on our beach towels. Shame because this spoils it. The nice part was being able to take a drink out onto the patio after breakfast - nice for two tired out fogies like us.
All in all I would recommend this hotel - loads of foreigners though !! - full of germans, spanish and french so this is normally a good sign. The one day there was a spanish christening there which was beautiful.
Would stay again - ask for a pool view if possible. The pool and garden view much nicer.

The San Fermin is a clean hotel which is situated at the top of a steep hill. overall it is a mainstream hotel with limited facilities. It is clean and basic. The food is poor and bland, however I find this in most 3 star spanish hotels.
I stayed in september and most of the guests were spanish and french. The hill was not a problem to me, however I can see elderly people having problems.
If the San Fermin does room only then it is a good base, however avoid the food as it is poor.

All staff very friendly and helpful (especially the reception) although the dining room staff left a lot to be desired. The hotel was clean but the ashtrays in the lounge could have been cleaned a bit more often - and I'm a smoker. The food wasn't good at all. Usually cold and the breakfasts were just a laugh - spring rolls one day (honest)! The location was quite good once you got used to the climb. Quite a few nice restaurants and pubs a bit further up and even more on the way down. Entertainment wasn't too bad.

We had a fab week, hotel was very clean, maids in every day, sheets changed once & clean towels every day.
Staff very helpful & friendly. We had breakfast, which consisted of a cooked english, cereal, toast, ham, cake, fruit juice, tea & coffee, eat as much as you like.
The only thing about the location was it was up a steep hill (nicknamed cardiac hill) made much easier to climb after a few drinks in the Bees Knees.
