Firstly, the hotel is miles from civilisation. Unless you hire a car, you have to get the once a day bus.
The hotel is in the middle of nowhere. You have to cross the death motorway to get to a small supermarket to buy the likes of water and crisps or visit a small pub etc.
The entertainment was poor - the same off key duo performing in front of 20 people.
Food was passable, although the previous nights burgers are served up for breakfast!
The attendants in the small shops inside could do with doing a customer relations course.
On the plus side, the swimming pools and grounds are superb.
Definately not going back there.

We visited the hotel for 2 weeks in April '02. We wanted a quiet, away from it all, relaxing holiday. That is what we got. The beach was shingle and sand, there were no local shops or bars, exactly what the brochure said. There is one small shop about 15 minutes walk which sold essentials. It took 2 hours to walk to Estepona along the beach, a bit of a slog, but worth it. The hotel was spotless, the staff friendly and the food very good with lots of choice. The hotel is set in lovely gardens and being able to use the grounds and facilities of the sister hotel (Costa del Sol Princess) was a bonus as relaxing on beds on the lawns under palm trees is highly recommended. (Especially with a good book and a glass of wine). Local bus service is good and cheap to visit Marbella, Porta Banus and Estepona. Each to their own, but we found the hotel very good! We had a great holiday, our 3rd Princess hotel and would go again.

I stayed in this hotel Jan '02. It was completely in the middle of nowhere situated at the end of a building site the only thing completed I don't think Thomsons should of had it in the brochure. The only good thing about it was it was new therefore everything was new and clean. The food was good and I did not find any of the staff rude.
Car hire is an absolute must. Although the bus service is good and a lot cheaper.(a taxi to Marbella was 30 euros)

If you just want to stay in the hotel 24 / 7 then it will do fine. As all guests are half board then if you get hungry at lunchtime then be prepared to walk a good hike to find the nearest shop.
I was really disappointed with the location and do not think it deserved the platinum rating.
Would definitely not go back there.
It gets my thumbs down.
