Estepona is a busy commercial town with bars/restaurants concentrated in either the town centre or seafront area. Not so many tourist shops but more shopping to serve the local population. You get the feeling you are in a busy Spanish Town and not a holiday resort. Lots of atmosphere we liked it.

Nothing there but two hotels and a very busy motorway

The resort is one of many that has grown too fast in the last 20 years. Far from any urban center, surrounded by non crossable private properties and golf courses. Very limited possibilites for activities or shopping outside the hotel.
Clean open beach no droves of foreigners hogging the sunbeds or dropping 40 tabs per day around the sunbeds
Resort, 2 Hotels and privately owned appartments, Hotel backs onto beach, nice to be able to walk out of the pool area and onto the beach. This complex is out of the way, there is nothing to do other than walk and enjoy the secluded peace and quiet. There is a bar on the beach called Heavan, its ok for a cold beer!
I was very impressed with the whole holiday, there were guests who were dissapointed with the location, but as I said " read up before you book."
We were looking for a chilled out holiday with good facilities... thats what we got you cannot ask for more.
