Super hotel location. When we return, and we probably will, we will request a balcony and sea view room. Our room. although exceptionally clean, was at the rear of the hotel with views of different air conditioning units! The restaurant overlooks the sea and you can sit where you like for breakfast and evening meal. If you are lucky you get a seat overlooking the sea. Not much entertainment at hotel, but not really needed as just sitting on the Balcon people watching is entertainment in itself

We really enjoyed our weeks stay in this hotel, the hotel is right in the heart of everything that goes on around the square on a night, you couldnt get any more central.

They had their own lovely beach, but if you want a sunbed you would have to be up extra early, as the towels were on from frist thing.

Our room was quite big considering we also needed a cot for the baby, room was nicely air conditioned. At the start of the week our room was always very spotlesly clean, towards the end of the week I think they may of had a new cleaner so they weren't as clean but we didn't mind.

Hotel staff very friendly, and the breakfast buffet had everything you could possibly imagine to eat.

I have visited Nerja numerous times but this is the first time I've stayed at this hotel. I will go back to Nerja again next year and almost definitley stay again at this hotel.

Recently stayed at the Hotel Balcon de Europa for 10 days, travelling independently.
Travelling from Newcastle (2.5 hrs)with a transfer of 45 mins by Taxi, but we hired a car at the airport, the only drawback to that is finding the underground garage facilities once you get into the centre of Nerja,(as the hotel has its own facilities for parking, ring the hotel first for the directions)it took a while to do, longer than travelling from Malaga to Nerja, but it could be our driving!!! and on reflection I would probably hire a car in resort as we didn't use the car much anyway.
We booked on a basis of bed and breakfast, the hotel was always clean and tidy and the buffet at breakfast had everything you could wish for , including Cava and smoked salmon if you so wished, looking out on to the sea views, what a wonderful way to enjoy breakfast!!
Staff were always friendly and helpfull at all times and the hotel is situated very centrally to the town and fab restaurants, and local entertainment on the Balcon at night. The place comes alive at night.
The hotel also has its own private beach via a lift, make sure you reserve your bed the day before to avoid disapointment (have a word with the man on the beach),and you can enjoy snacks at the el nautico restaurant if you wish.
We will definitely return to the hotel, hopefully next year.

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times, always booking direct with the hotel and not using a tour operator. The location is very spectacular being built in to the face of a cliff. The main entrance is on about the 7th floor and you can go down or up to your room. You have the best of both worlds as at the top you have the " balcon " itself which is a large flat balcony on top of the cliff with marvelous views along the coast. This is right in the heart of Nerja with restaurants, cafes and shops all around but at the bottom there is a very nice, fairly quiet beach which appears to be exclusive to the hotel. There is also a small open air pool with loungers on about the 8th floor.
The rooms are fairly basic but perfectly adequate and spotlessly clean with views straight out to sea. The staff were all helpfull and friendly. We tend not to eat much in the hotel as there are so many restaurants around but the hotel's beach snack bar serves very nice light meals and drinks and the buffet breakfast is excellent. There has never been much entertainment going on when we've been there but you don't miss it as Nerja is a very lively place and you are right slap bang in the centre of it.
