The food was above average but I was disappointed that no cold meats were available at dinner and the selection of sweets.
Our room though small was comfortable and was cleaned daily, no air conditioning resulted in a room temperature in excess of 90 degrees greeting us on our return in the late afternoon. We hired the use of a ceiling fan and this only had a marginal affect on the temperature and slept with both the window and balcony door open throughout the week.
The hotel is located in a residential area with very little noise, the route to the beach is about 500m down a very steep paved incline and after a day on the beach we found this more of a challenge on our return.
All the hotel staff from reception to the manager were very friendly and everyone seemed interested in making your holiday enjoyable.
The entertainment was good especially the flamenco show on Friday night along with a gala dinner. The entertainment is located around the pool area and this resulted in a most enjoyable Andalusian ambiance.
The Balcon de Europa is about a ten minute walk from the hotel and this is were you will find street entertainers, artists, and most of all an atmosphere that you will enjoy.
We will return to the Villa Flamenca in the future possibly in September or October and once again enjoy the quality of Nerja.

Yes the rooms are on the smallish side but this in no way changed our opinion of a lovely friendly hotel, after all how long do you want to spend in your bedroom when the sun is calling your name.
The hotel doesn't allow you to reserve sunbeds, a great idea, not setting the alarm for 5am to run down with your towels makes a world of difference! The entertainment was ok, but on a Friday there's a gala buffet (out of this world, in our opinion) followed by a flamenco evening.
On our week there, there were only a few young families, the hotel is geared up for the slightly older guest, we never found this a problem, I'd rather that than noisy neighbours.

Mainly mature adults in couples 50+ but makes for relaxation with the chance to chat and make new aquantances. Rooms are small but livable and you will not spend much time in them.
Rooms serviced every day and towels changed. Loads of hot water and good showers. Public areas more than adequete and good pool, not busy whilst we were there. Pool area both concrete and grass surrounds, plenty of beds and no fights to get them.
Drinks prices good, with happy hour 2 for 1 from 4.30 to 5.30 each day. Music most evenings and weekly gala dinner and flamenco show. Staff and management outstanding, mostly English speaking, esp reception which is 24 hour.

Our room was a decent size but was spoilt by the black damp patches on the ceiling. Cleaning was good and towels changed daily.
The food was varied and plentiful. The weather was cool when we were there so we tended to stay in the hotel at night and found the entertainment really good.
A nice quiet hotel.

The hotel is of medium size our room, although compact, was well furnished and comfortable. The public area's are of a good standard and well kept.
The house keeping cannot be faulted in any way. The bars have plenty of well trained staff working there.
We were disappointed with the food. The breakfast was basicaly the same choice every day. Dinner was well prepared and presented but basicaly English in style (I could have got the same at Blackpool)
The entertainment was of mixed quality and with the same acts twice a week. A little repetetive with the exception of the Flamenco night which we rated above average.
Spain is not our country of choice but if we decided to return this accommodation would be on our list..

But the hotel is fabulous, very clean and well staffed.
Our room was very spacious but my parents stayed in another room that was a lot smaller. But it looks like it had been freshly decorated it is that clean.
The food is excellent, breakfast is the usual - Bacon, Sausage, Eggs, Cereal, Salads, Breads, Pastries, Juices, Hot Drinks, etc. If you can't find something then you

Pool and pool side were great for just lazeing about.
Food and restuarant were very good with a big choice every day.

Yes is a very steep hill to the beach, believe, locals call it cardiac hill?? But you can get a taxi so cheap back up, few euros, but then I'm totally unfit.
All in all wonderful hotel and we went when Nerja festival was on, not to be missed.

The pool is not huge, but enough to cool off in.
There is quite a steep walk down to the beach, but it is straight to the beach within 10 mins.
The bar could often do with more staff, but the staff they have are efficient, and after a few days, know what you want anyway.
There is a little shop over the road, selling newspapers, drinks, snacks and beach toys.

The rooms are a little on the small side but this is a small price to pay for the service, quality of food and overall location that the hotel offers.
This was our first visit to the area and already we have talked about returning soon, ensuring that we book another stay at the Villa Flamenca!
