Heard so many bad things about this place I tried to cancel. I was pleasantly surprised by the rooms which were clean. clean linen and towels twice a week.

Friendly staff, pool cleaned by attendant regularly, large balcony which catches the sun all day if you are in building. Two overlooking the kids pool, there
Is also a big adult pool which is the deepest in Salou, very central to the main street, not the cheapest place in the world for the booze at around 3 euros a pint. Supermarket is cheap with 1 lt bottle vodka

The apartments now are called catalonia gardens,we heard so many bad reviews on this apartment before we went. We went and it was nothing like what people said about it,the rooms are basic nothing special, but we were very pleased with them because everything was clean and the room itself was like your own house room. Staff were very friendly apart from some of the spanish can be a little bit pushy at times. Has for cleaniness, the room was clean enofe for us,i suppose it depends which room you are chosen to go in. There was no dirty places and nothing to feel dissapointed about either. The only thing is, in this particular apartments you get the noise from the hotel right by it so it dosen't really keep you up,but i wouldn't go here if you wanted some peace and quite. Although the city itself isn't a noisy place but probably is in summer time. There were a slight breakages in the room but nothing mager to put you off it. We were put on a nice height up of the balcony, the balcony was nice and big so one room had two sliding doors and the main room had their own sliding doors, which is good because if one person isn't keen on having the door open the other can. Some things are included such as a kettle etc. It is probably the luck of the draw,we went and enjoyed it.

The catalunya park apartments are lovely, set on a road with plenty of shops and restaurants. The pool is great with a shallow one for the kids. Beware of the man who is in charge of opening the pool as he thinks he owns the place, he opened the pool 45 mins late and people got so bored that they jumped over the gates to reserve their beds and he came out shouting at them and threw the towels back at them all. The two entertainers are excellent especially when they are doing the poolside entertainment in the afternoon, they enrol everyone into dancing!!!!!

This hotel was very well kept and clean throughout the time we stayed there. Catered for all ages with English pool side entertainment for the children. It states in the brochure that part of the hotel in above a club, this is true and may disturbe the sleep of younger children however we were not affected.

The Catalonia Gardens are not that bad. You must remember that the apartments are only a 2 key so you can not expect the Ritz!! But, when we arrived at the apartments our room was not even ready (we arrived at 11am travelling since 2am!)!

The staff gave us our key and when we went to our room, it had not even been cleaned since the last guests left! so we then had to wait 2 hours for the cleaners to get round to our apartment and clean it.

The rooms are basic but big, there is no TV, air conditioning you have to pay a rent charge if you want them. The pool is nice and big. At night it can be very noisy when you want to go to sleep, all you hear is loud music and holiday makers making a racket when on their way home.

It really depends on what block your in really, we stayed in the reception block at the front (opposite International 2).

The location is great though. The beach, restaurants and nightlife is close by. Me and my partner went for 1 week and had a great time in Salou, we didn't mind the

Catalonia that much as we didn't expect it to be great for the price. I would definately go back to Salou but would not stay here again.

For our first holiday abroad, it was ok but the fact that the self catering section was a bit of a problem especially when the kids had to eat breakfast out of a cup which we found very humorous indeed! There was no kettle and very few self catering amenities there.

The kids loved the pool although we weren
