The accommodation was very good; clean plenty of room, although there were an insufficient number of comfortable seats if everyone was forced to stay in at any time. Cooking facilities were excellent and local stores were cheap and provided all our needs.

The cleaning staff were quiet when about their work and the rooms were cleaned well and clean towels provided every couple of days.

Reception staff were marvelous, speaking very good English and always willing to help (and provide Spanish tuition prior to us venturing away, ordering simple things like a taxi for 5 was made easy).

We had a few problems when we first arrived, nothing major, air con didn't work, window latch u/s, all were sorted within an hour of them being notified, a superb response.

The location is not perfect, it is on a main road (quiet), a short way from the beach, 5 mins at a slowish pace and you are there, but you can not see the sea.

The pool is excellent with loads of chairs and there was no putting of towels on to them early morning, a pet hate of mine.

Now the down side. The food at the 'Admirals Bar' was terrible, and no redress when it was pointed out either. This restaurant/bar detracts from an otherwise very good accommodation.

Beware the 'Captains Table', another restaurant further in to the town, it is run by the same people so I was told, but the food is equally poor even if it isn't.

Could not fault the apartments, they were mind blowing clean and spacious.
Food in Admiral Bar was not good and the children refused to eat there. Most people were sending their food back.
Not far from Salou, which was lucky as we bused in every day to eat.
Good place to stay with places such as Port Adventura, Aqua Park and Salou all very close by.
Bar staff were great and lovely Welsh lad Gavin kept us in drinks all night, bless him.
Children were bored in the evening, as entertainment was not their cup of tea, although everyones kids were great.

The rooms were very clean with 2 bathrooms and a nice fitted kitchen.

The Admiral bar down stairs was owned by british was fantastic for adults and children the bar staff were really friendly.

The entertament was good some nights but on a monday it is not worth going to see micky dee. I am going back next month because we liked every thing so much.

I would advise you to go to the aqua park near it is exallent and go to portaventura it is fantastic day out for everyone.

I must say watch your bags in salou and on the busses. The beach is well good it has not got much sand so it is easier to watch the kids.

The buffet chinesse is lovely i would go there if i was you.

The pool is in excellent condition it is cleaned out every night and the beds are put back right so book up now!!!

I stayed in the Pineda park apartments last year and have already booked to go back for next year! I thought the apartments were great and the staff were really nice. The doctors surgery downstairs came in really handy though when my son got badly sun burnt and needed medical attention (through no fault of our own).

The staff in the Admiral bar downstairs were really great especially Camy, Gavin, Janet, Jim and Graham! They kept the craic going all night!

The seperated rooms were a great idea as no one was ready to kill each other by the end of the holiday! I will continue to return as long as I am fit to travel!

The apartments were great, the best we have ever been in and the 2 bathrooms were an unexpected surprise.
The maid service was excellent and very reliable as was the maintenance service.

The biggest drawback to our stay was the admiral bar which was part of the hotel. With the exception of Jim, Carmelia and Gavin the staff were very poor, never in my life have i met such unfriendly staff especially the couple who ran the bar who in particular had a very anti-scottish attitude, referring to us as your lot when talking about the scottish people staying at the hotel. There were only 10 scottish people staying in the apartments.

The rep at the hotel Liam was the best rep we have had. He was extremely helpful and always a good laugh. If you go with airtours take the time after time excursion it is excellent.

We booked purposly because we wanted a quieter area with the busier Salou within reach if required.
When we arrived the rooms were everything we could expect and 100% more they were immaculatly clean and very spaciouc .the only down side to this was i was charged an underoccupancy fee by the travel agent who said the appartments slept 8,well they slept 7 at a push with three girls having to sleep in 2 beds pushed together ,might i add this did not spoil our holiday one bit .But just watch out.

The hotel food was totally adequete when feeding 7 mouths.The Chicken curry is a must .All food was reasonably priced and you may find you will eat there on most days .

The location is very quiet or at least was when we were there we were hard pushed to find a home for the two weeks and more often than not settled for the British run bar in the complex,which was probably the best of everything La pineda had to offer.We had many a late enjoyable night getting very merry in the Admiral.

On the whole the Staff were a credit to the complex,A special mention must go to the tall romanian girl who totally looked after us for the full two weeks and we still dont know her name she was brilliant ,All the staff were excellent with the exception of one day time bar lady who i wont embarras by mentioning her and how arrogant she was but if she reads this she will know i mean her

The entertainment was surprisingly good ,i read a lot about how cheesy it was before i went and was in all honesty pleasantly surprised
the
polanisian dansing was .fantastic and for any karaoke lovers Wednesdays and Saturdays were a must .

We fully enjoyed our stay the kids met loads of mates we would definitly go back again but i think only for one week as it does get a little repetative the second week all in all a fantastic two weeks The best appartments we have ever stayed in .

We stayed at the La Pineda Apts, the hotel was very clean the reception clerks were very helpful and could speak very good english. The rooms were very clean and spacious for a family of three,having an en-suite bath/shower room and an other shower/toilet were very unexpected for us as we never new we would get them. a special mention should go to the pool attendant for keeping the pool and area very clean from rubbish. the hotel was situated of the main streets but still close enough for the beach(5mins). entertainment was quite poor for children unless you kept giving them money for the games room,we would stay in the apts. again but not use the bar.If you go to Hennessy`s bar you always have a good laugh they always say the Irish are freindly and Bridget was a very fine host.

Right , where to start....
Firstly it was the first drop-off from Reus Airport and the last pick-up which is great when the weather is stifling.
The entrance and reception were immaculate and to a high standard with brochures in reception explaining bus times, reps visits, outings, nearest doctors etc.
Daily English papers (usually 1 tabloid) free to read in the lobby downstairs.
English speaking (most were fluent) help at 24hr reception.
Bedooms were very spacious , a small but well equipped kitchen (60 euro deposit for breakages) and 2 seperate showers per apartment , on 5 floors serviced by 2 lifts opposite reception which was kind of re-assuring knowing they were watching who came and went.
All rooms had a safe for belongings (2 euros per day rental)
TV in all rooms but reception was very poor.
Self catering but restaurant/bar downstairs served meals 24hrs per day and delivered to room if required. Mainly average fayre but prices matched that.
Entertainment was very basic but got the residents involved as much as possible, no great sounds but karaoke , quizzes , magic show etc. Cancelled if it was raining (only one night of rain whilst we were there). Basically if it's top class in-house entertainment you require then this is not the hotel for you.
Sky Sports , Pool Tables (2 euros ouch!!) and a small amusement arcade around the side of the apartments.

Average sized pool with unusually, plenty of sunbeds , we never had a day pass without some being available at all times of the day. Pool clean and baby pool also available.
Mainly Brit/Irish residents whilst we stayed there.
Small kiddies playground at the side of the hotel , fully enclosed but not within view of poolside.

Small negative was the hotels large charge for converting travellers cheques to euros , approx 7%.

Overall (in our opinion) the best self-catering option in Salou.

Hotel is situaded in La Pineda which is 15 mins to 30 mins (depending on traffic) by bus from just outside the apartments. Taxi is twice the cost from Salou but takes under 10 minutes (based on 2 adults 2 kids travelling). It is a very quiet location if getting to sleep early is vital.

We have already booked for this summer and will be returning to this hotel.

The pineda park apartments offered a pleasant surprise. The apartments are located in a semi residential area, but close to the shops, bus stops and restaurants in the resort.

The bar is run by English people, and the food simple but great value when feeding a family of six!!
The reception area was immaculate, the Spanish staff were friendly,helpful and spoke English for us.

We booked a three bedroomed apartment, which was spacious, fully equipped and air conditioned!!! bliss!
The best bit was the two bathrooms, which we weren't expecting. The maid service was excellent, we had to empty our own bins though, which involved a trip to the basement in the lift!! a treat for the kids!

We would without reservation reccommend these apartments for any one considering a self catering holiday in the quieter part of la pineda.

I stayed in LA Pineda Apartments on a self catering basis, however, the facilities in my room were excellent. They were immaculate and very modern.
Downstairs there was a British run bar, most staff being very pleasant especially the goregous Gavin! Word of warning! Avoid the 40'ish women with red lipy and blonde hair! She's a battle ax! Special mention to the receptionists who were fun and friendly and spoke fluent English! The maids cleaned our rooms every two days and supplied us with clean towels, they were quiet but pleasant all the same. The entertainment was average, only good entertainment was the karoke! The hotel is situated in a beautiful area at the front with up market hotels but smelly behind with down trodden old hotels. Beach is within 5minutes walk, bus stops are near by going to Barcleona, Portaventura, and Salou. Porteventura is EXCELLENT even for big kids!
