Main reason for booking the Dusit Thani was location (adjacent to both Skytrain and Metro). As time was limited we required somewhere which would allow us to get about quickly.
Ate in 2 of the 5 restaurants during our stay, the Benjarong and Hamiltons Steakhouse, both magnificent.
The staff are incredibly friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble.
Room was more than adequate with all necessary facilities and some personal touches.
Swimming pool was great, wooden loungers and comfortable mattresses, fresh towels on demand.
Bar and restaurant prices not cheap but for the luxury surroundings we had no real complaints.

Not necessarily inspiring form the outside, the newly renovated Dusit Thani is primarily a business hotel, but service and standards are impeccable, and I rate the staff as amongst the most professional I've dealt with in Thailand.
I had a club room which was sparkling, with a separate living room / office, a bed that could fit 12 people with ease, and a shower that could handle twice that many. On the doorstep is the skytrain AND metro, Patpong market (which is a lot more upmarket these days!), and heartily recommend it as an alternative when you've stayed on Sukhimvit Road or on the river several dozen times.
Breakfast was great (separate lounge for club rooms - not sure about the main buffet) but didn't try and of the hotel restaurants.
If i'm looking for anything negative, i'd say the balconies need revamping (as I said, the hotels outside is reminscent of a concrete block), and the pool is mostly in the shade (and quite small). Struggle to find any other negatives though.

This is the second time I stayed at this hotel. The rooms are light and airey.
Everything about this hotel is good.
The breakfasts in the restaurant are excellent and the location is extremely good with skytrain station nearby.
I shall certainly stay there again when I visit in January.

Wow , what a lovely hotel , very smart and impressive.
Great location opposite lumphini park and a couple of minutes walk to a skytrain station.
Our room was very well appinted with a huge bathroom with a double marble sink and a lovely walk in shower.
The bed was so comfy and the room very spacious.
There are many facilities at the hotel , which to be honest we did not use as we were out all the time.
The breakfast buffet was very good and there was a nice bakery/pastry shop for a snack or coffee.
The pool area was quite small but surprisingly quiet considering the location in central Bangkok.
The only niggle was that the sunbeds around the pool seemed quite old and a little grubby.
All in all a very good quality hotel, would recommend.
There are lots of quality restaurants on site - though again we did not use them so cannot comment.
