We have stayed at the Dusit Resort for seven years and we are going back again in July 2008.
This hotel is the best one we have stayed in the staff from manager to bell boy are excellent.
We have made many friends amongst the staff and get an excellent welcome, the food in all three restaurants is very good, dearer the the restaurants in town but not by much. But breakfast is costly better to have in little cafe pink lady.

We have just returned from another visit to this hotel and whilst it is a wonderful hotel I must warn you about the renovations.
Whatever your travel agent says do not believe them. There are still major works going on with jack hammers being used to rip up tiles.
Power saws, routers, drills etc from 9.30 a.m. until after six. It is impossible to get any peace at either pool. We did not let it bother us too much as we love this hotel so much.
But please be aware. I would guess at least another 12 to 18 months of work to do.
After that I am pretty sure the room rate will increase.

We have stayed at The Dusit at least four times now so that may tell you something.
The Dusit is a four star hotel set at the North end of Pattaya bay.It has its own beach but to be honest the beach at Pattaya is no good anyway.
Two excellent pools one an olympic sized one with a rarity these days a good deep end at least 10 feet deep.We tend not to eat at Hotels when we are away preferring to try as many restaurants as possible so cannot comment on the food.Very nice rooms with satellite tv tea and coffee making facilities etc.Sea view rooms come as a supplement but are exactly the same as garden view in any other way.First class service at every level staff really try to make your stay enjoyable.
It is set at the quieter part of Pattaya but nip out of the gate at the Chaba pool and jump on a Baht bus.For 10 baht they go the length of beach road and you jump off wherever you want.
Pattaya is certainly not for those easily offended but we enjoy it.One word of caution. The hotel is undergoing a rolling program of refurbishment and all the travel agents websites give dates when it will be finished and say only handtools are used. These dates are however continually pushed forward so you may book thinking the work will be finished and lo and behold the dates are pushed forward so when you get there the work is ongoing. This has happened the last two times we have been. Also power drills saws etc are used.
Having said that it would not put me off going back.
