Don't go by first impressions, areas of this hotel look a bit shabby and could do with a lick of paintbut the location and service makes up for all of this.
The rooms were clean with wooden floors and although the bathrooms could do with refurbishment they were clean and functional.
We stayed in the hotel buildings, there are bungalows near the beach side of the hotel but be warned the path to the beach and restaurant runs infront of these so people will be walking by all hours of the day & night, I would also think you may have a problem with mosquitoes due to the amount of foliage around and being next to the river.
The restaurant is directly on the beach which is a real bonus and the breakfasts were very good with a large variety of food avaliable. There were plently of sunbeds and unberellas avaliable. There is also a beach bar open all day until about 9-10pm.
They have a pool whish again is a bit tatty but is clean and pleasant to swim in and sit around.
I think improvements are ongoing at this hotel as they were working on various areas (at no intrusion to the guests I would add) and several projects had been completed whilst we were there.
The hotel is located to one end of Lamai, the start of what you may call the high street so is within walking distance of all nightlife. All the usual facilities ie internet, laundry, aircon. TV & fridge in rooms, balconies.
Their walk in rate is a lot dearer than the pre-book rate and for returning guests there is an even lower rate!
