A small resort, a cluster of bungalows set in gardens around a swimming pool - this place is a little gem for those who like their hotels small, personal and quiet. We like it so much we've been twice. Its a place to chill and unwind where you are left very much to your own devices. We often find it difficult to drag ourselves away from the lovely pool and explore the rest of Krabi.
The rooms are in semi-detached bungalows which are stylishly decorated with plantation grown teak furniture. Some rooms over look the pool, others face the mangrove that surrounds this small hotel. I would say the rooms are better than your usual 3 star. The rooms are air-conditioned, and have TV and fridge.
A small road separates the bungalows from the Beach Restaurant where breakfast is taken. They also do very good food here should you wish to take lunch or dinner - a mix of Thai and Western Dishes.
As with so many hotels in Thailand its the staff who add value. Also the owners dog Fanta is quite a character.
One of the plus points of this hotel is that to some extent you feel part of the local community...the chap who lives next door is the boatman who takes you on trips to the nearby islands, you hear the call to prayer from the nearby mosque..you can poke around the local market that is set up once a week next door.
While the Beach Restaurant is on the beach its not the greatest stretch of sand...however the hotel is very near to Koh Hong and other islands so on boat trips you get them before other holiday makers and can pick best spot on these beaches. Oh as for money changing the hotel has an ATM...makes life easy.
Apart from the TV in your room there is no entertainment at this hotel - but then thats one of the reasons you go there.
