Tropical garden is situated on the cliff side of Kata so there are a large number of stairs around the hotel, however there are lifts in the accommodation blocks.
The hotel surroundings are very nice, with lots of trees and beautiful plants. The hotel is clean and all of the staff were really friendly. We were very happy with our room - it was very spacious, there was a shower/bath, a large bed (2 doubles together) a TV, hairdryer, a free safe, very good AC and a mini bar which was reasonably priced and well stocked. We also had free tea/coffee making facilities in the room and for which we were supplied with free water each day.
Breakfast (buffet style) was included; this was served 6.30 to 10.30. The busiest times were generally between 8.00 and 9.30, during these times things were a little hectic and you would have to queue for eggs and the toaster. The choice was good (eggs - cooked to order, bacon, sausages, cereals, toast/bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, salad, croissants, pancakes and a few strange choices - e.g. rice, pasta, mash potato, chicken soup).
There are two pools. Both were lovely and very warm; there were plenty of sun beds. Each pool had a swim up bar and jacuzzi. Towels were provided for the pool and beach each day. The smaller pool is all one depth and was on numerous occasions deserted. The larger pool was more family orientated, with a basket ball net and goal posts.
