The only fault with this hotel was that we and our friends were 'overbooked' so spent the first night at the sister hotel in Patong, which was not as nice as this one. I would advise contacting the hotel before your holiday to confirm your arrival. It does seem to happen frequently, there was a honeymooning couple moved the same day as us.
Barring that it is the best hotel, I have ever stayed at! Lovely location away from the noise of town, clean etc. Could not fault it really.
Lovely bar on the hill beside it and the massage 'tents' on the beach (not hotel owned) were so relaxing with the sound of the sea etc.

They say that Thailand is the 'land of smiles' and this certainly applies to the staff at The Merlin Beach Resort. Just outside Patong, the hotel is very clean and modern.
Buffet style breakfast offering a varied selection. It has numerous restaurants catering for both Thai and Western cuisine. Poolside bars and a swim up bar make days by any one of there 3 pools very enjoyable.
The hotel is located on its own private beach. Beautiful clean white sand but very heavy under foot once in the sea due to the vast amount of coral.
A group provides entertainment in the lounge during the evening. I feel that the hotel is ideally situated being just out of the hustle & bustle of a main town but with the option to enjoy the town only a short distance away.
The local shopping area is good, approximately 10 minutes by Taxi costing 200bht (approx
