This was our 4th visit to The Gambia and we have stayed here everytime. An unpretentious 3 star hotel that can't be faulted as far as I'm concerned. An excellent location in a quiet spot but within easy walking distance of the local village of Kotu.
Rooms are best if you can get a "Garden Bungalow" but as they are limited you might not be able to get one until one becomes available and then if you can be bothered to change.
I particularly like the fact you can take breakfast overlooking the sea, and a pretty good buffet breakfast it is too.
We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant this time around but on previous visits it has been good. Certainly, the bar menu is excellent and quality very good in deed.
One of the recent benefits is the availability of free WiFi. The signal can be variable but always good in the hotel reception area.

Returned for a second visit but this time we took up the half board option which was excellent vaue for money. This is an excellent 3* hotel that offers superb value for money.

Excellent value 3 star hotel and superior to similar we have stayed in Indian beach resorts. We did however reject the first room we were offered on the basis it was too close to the table tennis table. Yes, I know but the ball would get on your nerves after a while !
We were offered a bungalow room instead which was nicer too. Huge bed, large fridge and generally spacious. Our only complaint was that the connecting door was wafer thin and although didn't prove to be too much of a problem , we were woken to the details conversation of our neighbours on a couple of occasions.
The rooms and hotel were very clean. The staff were superb and didn't try to extract favours, money or anything else from the guests. A common problem elsewhere I believe !
Breakfast (7-10am) was substantial and offered plenty of fruit too while we were there. 10/10 there.
Evening entertainment ranged from good most evenings ( although Bongo drums can be wearing after a while) to awful on the night they have Karaoke.
Bar snacks and beer prices at the bar were pretty good value although we made good use of the room fridge too.
The pool area is adequate and although the pool is smallish it didn't seem to present a problem. We didn't have a problem getting a sunbed although during the second week of our visit it became more apparent that they were being reserved with towels pretty early on.
This was done largely by the pool staff who no doubt were being tipped to do so. Alkl tips though were supposedly put into a joint kitty for all hotel staff to share which is a great thing.
Locally there are 6 or so eating places, the hotel leads straight on to the beach.
A good choice of venue for the money.

The hotel had an excellent location and overall was super for a relaxing break in the sun.
The rooms upstairs were spacious and very clean. They were very basic although ours did have a fridge and cooking facilities too which was great.
The staff couldn't do enough for you, they were wonderful.
Breakfast was good, with a range of breads, pancakes, omlettes, bacon, sausage etc. The only complaint was that there was not much fresh fruit available. We didn't eat in the restaurant at night but did use the hotel bar for lunch which was lovely, nice salads, pizza, pasta, sandwiches etc.
If you go to the Gambia the 'Bush and Beach' tour is amazing, you really get to see true Africa. Please take pens, note pads, any old clothes if you get chance. The schools and villages have nothing they are so poor and would be grateful of anything you have.
