The resort itself is very busy. The marina is definatley worth a visit and the selection of shops is amazing. You can get a taxi 4 dinars to the marina and return in a horse drawn carriage which is def worth a go. The beach was beautiful and clean. Lots of parasailing, jetskis. bannana boats etc at very reasonable cost, This was our first time in Tunisia and were sorry we did not book 2 weeks instead of one. But I have already been online to book for next year and the kids cant wait!!

We were led to believe that October was still 'in season' in Tunisia. It did not appear so to us. However, we didn't visit northern Tunisia to get Blackpool in the sun. If you want to see the real country and the real people this could be for you. The Soukes in Tunis are less busy than those in Egypt or Turkey and if you get out of the touristy section and into the truly Tunisian part the sights and smells are truly wonderful. The resort of Gammarth is not a resort in my understanding of the word, it is a quiet backwater where if you want to sit in the sun and relax with within a 30 minute taxi ride a bit of bargaining in the Soukes and a bit of Culture in the ruins of Carthage you will have a good break away from home.
