we have just returned from a weeks stay at this hotel, although the hotel is very big the staff are very freindly and helpful as you are sure to get lost in the maze of streets which the rooms are all off. our room was a suite and was large with a seperate kitchen full of all the kitchen appliances you can think of kettle toaster coffee machine, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment etc. we had a seperate sitting area with 2 lovely soft big settees and tv you didnt have to put

I had high hopes for the Residence Diar Lemdina prior to our departure, having done my homework on various hotels in the area and finally selecting this one. I wasn't disappointed.
We had a large apartment, which comprised of a bedroom, lounge area with cable TV, small balcony, bathroom and kitchen with fridge/freezer and basic equipment. It was MUCH bigger than we expected and the air con was included in the price, unlike other hotels we have stayed in!
Having an apartment rather than just a bedroom made a huge difference to our holiday and we would definitely seek apartment style accommodation in future.
It meant for us we could do things like have a nightcap or read in our lounge and one night, following our exhausting Sahara trip, we even had a proper night in, complete with wine and takeaway pizza!
This is something we would never have done in a small bedroom. The rest of the hotel was lovely, with a large, airy reception area, two pools with umbrellas and loungers and an interesting overall design.
We found the breakfasts to be very good with a choice of fruit, toast, pastries or hot items - you could even have your own omelette cooked to order! The hotel staff were very friendly and professional.
We asked for a change of room after two nights as there was noisy maintenance work going on near our room and this change was made straightaway, amid a flurry of apologies. Although the hotel is situated within the actual Medina, we didn't have problems with sellers hassling us as we made our way every day from our room out of the hotel. The only time we had sellers bothering us was when we wandered further into the Medina.
The hotel is near the beach and has its own designated section of beach, manned by friendly hotel staff who will find you sunbeds with shade at no extra charge. Overall we were extremely impressed with this hotel - our high expectations were exceeded - and if we ever return to this resort, we would definitely return to this hotel.
