Stayed at this hotel early November 2003. True that the entertainment is pretty pathetic. As non-smokers we were treated like lepers - all the smokers are allowed to sit around the buffet and see the "cabaret", the non-smokers are herded into a dark corner. The place seemed to be dominated by French people with very few brits choosing to stay here, and therefore the staff had poor command of english. Food is Ok but very repetitive by the second week. The beach (shared with Sol Azur) is fine but impossible to get a decent cup of coffee. Probably better to stay at the Sol Azur 500 yds away, mostly Brits and a bit nearer Hammamet

I loved this hotel. Great location not too near to the town, but near enough to be able to walk to it. (Although the taxi's are so cheap, that is the best thing to do) Great food. Different things every day. Very simple rooms, but they had everything you could possibly need, including a fantastic view of the beautiful pool, and the sea. The beach nearby was very safe, and quiet too (which is always a good thing!). The only downside to the hotel is the lack of good entertainment. Every night they had the same duo singing/playing keyboard, and the same belly dancer, doing the same dances!!
Overall, i give the Royal Azur 8.5/10 The rooms were a bit too basic and the entertainment was, well, pathetic!! But other than those, a fantastic hotel which i would happily stay in again.

Clean hotel with very good food; buffet style.
