The resort is lovely and has lots to offer. Yasmin Hammamet Has a modern Medina with good shop as well as Carthage Land a must for kids. Hammamet itself is a laid back town with some nice shops and restaurants. Puppet is a Roman archaeological site worth a visit, it has the remains two very large town houses and baths.

We stayed in Hammamet again this as to be the best resort in Tunisia the beaches are kept clean and the resort itself is well spread out and clean, Most entertainment is hotel based although there are some discos used by the locals and younger visitors.

The Phenicia is in the middle of Hammamet and Yasmine Hammamet, it is easy to get the local bus into either town, ladies beware in the bazaar at Hammamet do not be alone in the shop some of the shopkeepers come on too much.

There is nothing special outside the hotel except few shops and it's not very clean outside. For the entertainment you need to go to Hammamet or Yasmin Hammamet by taxi.
Beach is mostly clean, but no "blue flag" on it and I didn't see anyone from staff trying to take away seaweeds.

we stayed on the complex as my husband cant walk far and our hotel was in North Hammamet but outside the hotel was very little ,just shops ( a fixed price one opposite the hotel called chez nous was very good ).We were happy to stay inside the complex but taxis were cheap if you wanted to visit nearby Hammamet or yasmin Hammamet .

We loved the beach, It was 2 Dinars (about a pound) for a sunbed with mattress for a day. The food was good at the beach and they served you food and cold beers as you lay basking in the sun. Shakespere bar next door have all day happy hour for alcoholic beverages. We also liked the pub next to the beach 2 Dinars for a lovely cold pint. Across the road was another pub just to chill. There was a few shops round about for juice, crisps etc. It cost 4-7 Dinars to go to Yasmin Hammamet and slightly more to Hammamet centre itself. The Yasmin medina is worth a look as is the Carthage land (theme park) - my daughter enjoyed it on her birthday. We also went to the "African dream" excursion which was excellent. The 2 day Sahara trip is also unmissable as you see the real Tunisia and the trip was excellent.

the hotel we stayed in was outside the resort of hamammet by 2.5 miles but oly cost £2.50 to get into hamammet, hamammet itself was clean but on the outside you could see it was a poor country, entertainment in the bars is basic but good fun and there is a nightclub but not many.the beaches are cleaned every night by a big lawn mower style machine so are spotless,be prepared to be hasled to come into the shops but a firm no is often enough to stop the hassle, the markets and bazaars are great for bargains but be prepared to barter it is great fun and you will get some good bargains.
