We stayed at the Tour Khalef hotel on 9th - 16th January 2005. Initial thoughts were that the hotel looked ok, a bit dated, but was very clean and tidy, as was our bedroom. However, the bathroom could do with a bit of a re-vamp, but it was still nice.

During our duration at the hotel, the outdoor pool was being refurbished, which was a shame as the hotel grounds were pretty impressive - plenty of loungers, loads of gorgeous palm trees and a large patio area where you can sit in the sun a drink. Also the hotel had a little kennel area for cats, so there were so many cute little kittens about, all friendly.

The food was ok. It was different every day. We had breakfast once, which I hated - lots of undercooked fried eggs, dodgy looking hot dog sausages and horrible yogurts. Never bothered with breakfast after that, just waited for lunch and dinner. I must say that in the 'blamonge pudding' there was a large piece of plastic cord... this really put me off, luckily it was our last meal, other than that the food was ok.

The staff are friendly enough, all that I came across spoke good English.

The hotel has a small shop which is very over-priced, I would go out of the hotel doors, turn right through the car entrance gates and visit the shop to the right hand side on the road - very cheap water, crisps, sweets, souvenirs - everything.

The hotel is based right on the beach, which is one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen! The sea is clear and the sand is white and the weather was good!

The TV in our room, offered a few English channels most of which are rubbish... however there was a digital BBC Channel - 'BBC Prime', which showed the likes of Lenny Henry, Alan Partridge, Casualty and Ready, Steady, Cook. Might I add, to watch the TV you must pay a deposit of 30 Tunisian Dinars - about

All inclusive option farcical. Lot of sickness and dioherria, nothing done by the tour operator to solve this problem. Hygiene poor, food poor, one family member so ill for two days. Please do not go to this hotel. We complained from day one, eventually got moved to another hotel for complaining too much.

We had all inclusive option at this hotel, and it was excellent. The hotel was spotless our room was cleaned every day, The staff went our of their way for you. If you want a great cocktail try the Tour Khalef from the inclusive bar made by Mohammed. excellent. The food was fantastic and the deserts were beautiful.
Entertainment was great different every night. Can get a taxi from outside for 2dinars into sousse great value for money. Would love to go back again and take kids with us. Teenagers would love it too.

Prefunctionary at best.
Food menu repeated and not very tasty or appetising.

Acceptable location and the walk to town was good for fitness

Dinar motivated.

Loud, and I am afraid to say sadly in need of a total change.

I would never visit this hotel if wild horses dragged me.
The children ran wild and especially at meal times caused havoc with the food layouts.

Mysterios D & V outbreaks across the board - including all nationalities - were ignored and swept under the carpet by the 'reps' ( who were diabolical in their inabilities to cope other than to try and sell you trips.I know of more than 40 cases ( at least ) which presented similar symptoms whilst staying at the hotel.

The room we occupied on arrival had a cracked wash basin, the next room had no showerhead but an old discoloured white end piece.

The basin taps travelled a full 3 - 4 inches back and forth. One of the air conditioning ducts had only a fascia behind which was a hole.

Another room we were shown has one that was odourous with the smells of sewage - When reported to the 'reps.' we were told we had to realise that standards were different here.

My wife and I on arrival took one look at the hotel and the room - we both wanted a return flight back - but were persuaded to stay, and decided to go on as many trips away from the hotel as possible so that the time would pass.

All complaints were ignored and I have seen famalies reduced to tears and removed from the hotel, and one family father was threatened with the police and was to be charged with terrorism.

I pray to god that I never have such degrading experience, and tended to by pitiful reps. Thompson should take a long and honest evaluation as to what their reputation is suffering by this chancre.

Do not have anything to do with this hotel no matter what inducements are offered to lure you.

Overall the hotel was fab and clean, we really enjoyed the holiday there and it was good at night with the entertainment. And the night club which was like a cave in the hotel grounds.

The food was nice but it was always the same.

The pool was not in use because it had building work on it but did not really matter as it was a little cold anyway for outdoor swimming but we had the use of the indoor pool of the sister hotel which had a gym. I thought this was good.

The beach was really nice but there was too many fag ends on it, not really the hotels problem.

The rooms were lovely and bright, good bathhrooms.

It was a fab hotel and I would definitely go there again. It is for families and it is a huge hotel. I would not rate it a 4* I would rate it 5* it was brill. The music was good the DJ's + dancers and singers were good.

The hotel shop was good and the people who worked in the hotel shop were very nice and helpful.

I would go again but when it's hotter weather.

I Don't beat around the bush. What an experience if anything you have to go for that. Hotel food very very poor if you are a picky eater take lots of crisps. Same thing every night just changed the sauce that it was cooked in. Sweets same thing every night just cakes but with a different coloured icing everynight.

Hotel staff very helpful and very pleasent as for the cleanliness top marks. Apart from they were painting the ceiling and it stunk of turps.

Entertainment I would rather watch BBC2. The Nightclub suituated in the hotel ground by the swimming pool is a good place to go after quite a lot of drinks. Do not go sober.

Reps at the hotel just wanted money if you did not give you did not receive. At the welcome meeting all money, money, money. Did not give any information about the hotel. E.G I waited in a queue at the reception for a remote control and a safety deposit box for 1hr15mins to get to the front to be told you need your card that you got at the welcome meeting before they give you these. I had to go back to my room on the 3rd floor and stand in the queue for a further 45mins.

After this if you needed money exchanging you can be standing there for min 20mins max 1hr30mins.

Well where do I start well for one thing it is not a 4 star hotel to me I think a 2 star plus.

The food was about standard for a big hotel I think the hotel needs to be upgraded.

The swimming pool needs to be cleaned more as around the edge was a ring of oil that must have been on for a long time.

The out side of the hotel needs painting bad as the paint was coming off the walls out side.

You must tip the waiters all the time as they expect it.

We went in October last year, we had a great time.

The hotel is 3*+ and we thought that the hotel was great (a bit dated looking, but work had just begun)

The staff were always polite and helped in any way they could with any problems we had. The thompson rep was friendly & informative about the local area.

room was good, twin beds - but who cares - it's not a big deal to push them together!! Room was spacious and with a great sea view, and loads of storage space. Cleanliness was of a high standard throughout the hotel.

Food was ok, we went half board and generally ate there for breakfast & lunch, theres a great french restaurant on the corner just outside the complex 'Trois Daulphin' - the steak was perfect!! - loads of places to eat in Sousse centre. (walking distance - 20mins along the beach)
