Belek was a lovely resort. The beach was really calm and loads of people enjoyed swimming in the sea.
We went into the resort to go to the Saturday market and loved it. Quite a big market with loads of clothing and other stuff available at reasonable prices.
A lovely English Bar called 'Gardeners' which was lovely for a proper lager and for watching the football from back at home.

didnt like not being able to use other hotels and beaches but not too much of a problem - you could stroll and even the locals were able to access the beach at given points.

The hotel is about fifteeen minutes away from the nearest town of Belek .The town is quite small and consists of mainly shops selling clothes ,bags and jewellery .Not to many bars and pubs ,just a laid back sort of place which is very enjoyable to visit .There are some nice places of historic interest in the area ,such as Aspendos the ancient amphitheatre and the ancient of Perge .There are also some nice waterfalls called the dooden.(spel)

Belek is mostly 5 star hotels and golf courses. The town itself is a bit dull. There are a few bars and a market but not a lot else. We did visit Duden Waterfalls which area near Antalya and these are beautiful.

Maids daily clean was very thorough. Showers, baths sinks and windows washed down every day. Beds turned down beautifully. Mini bar always full only alcohol was beer, however, water, pepsi, fruit juice boxes, orangade etc. were all refreshed everyday. I could not fault the hotel at all or its very clean beach.
Kids club entertainment very good, adult fitness classes and darts competitions. Little shows at night. Discos for kids and a club at night for adults. There is so much to do and see even if you are only strolling around admiring the grounds.
All of this was wonderful I can't say a bad word about the hotel/resort itself, however, I still would not go back. I just couldn't believe the treatment the 4 women in my party received. Glasses topped up last in the restaurants, food served last and every male at a bar served first. And it wasn't just them most women received this treatment.
May sound trivial but it takes women up to 20 minutes everytime standing in ques to get a coffee or a beer at the bar because the staff just refuse to serve them before a fella. It certainly made me angry when my wife was paying the exact same money for so much less service.
If you are a regular family man wanting your wife/girlfriend/mother/kids to have a nice time be prepared to que for it.

Belek is mainly a resort based on large hotels on the beach which are all inclusive. There is not much in the way of historic sites or quaint village type things as Belek is purely a resort built for tourists, so if you want to experience any of the 'real' Turkey you will have to go on trips or hire a car and travel around.
Most of the hotels provide their own evening entertainment and there is not much in the way of restaurants/bars as most of the hotels are all inclusive.

Nice clean resort, OK entertainment, shops etc. The beach was excellent. Despite this I would not reccomend this hotel to anyone!

You can't go for a walk and explore outside the hotel which didn't bother us as this is not what was high on our list of priorities (I personally like to explore the nearest town but coped well just staying at the hotel!) although taxis are called to the hotel and are very cheap. You can go for lovely walks along the beach and the sunsets in the evening are beautiful.

Belek is about a mile up the road, a 15 to 20 minute walk or 3 to 4 euros in a taxi or there's a tractor bus thingy that you can take in the open air as well.
Plenty of shops but bargains not so prevalent as 2005 though still "designer" shirts and the like to be had. The Turks don't hassle too m uch but you can expect the usual "come and have a look at the crap n my shop" which they have picked up from previous visitors.
Bar Bekaa run by an English proprietoress a short taxi ride away from Arcadia had sky sports if you wanted to and also did good food for a cheapish change and an evening out.
