Nothing ot say about Lara Beach except there is nothing to do, all shops are same, resort is purpose built for 5 star hotels only. If your after walking out of an evening, popping into a local bar, then this is not the place for you.

The resort hasn’t much going on, we went a walk one day from the hotel, but it was too hot and there wasn’t much to see and it wanst the safest road to walk along either.
There are small shops/markets/bazaars etc scattered around the area were you could get a bargain or two.
The hotel does supply a bus ride to the big shopping centre and plenty of other things to do in the resort and surrounding areas at a cost but we never bothered.
The resort has a lot of work going on, hotel and road construction, (this did not impact on our holiday one bit by the way), but this is why the cleanliness score is a 3.
I can only imagine the resort will be bigger and better in a year or two, but I can also imagine it will be a lot busier and dearer in a year or two also!
The beach was immaculate, if not a bit stoney at the water, but that didnt matter as the med was warmer than the pool everyday of my holiday!!

It may have been because we went out of season(March)and the hotels were only just starting to get their sunbathing areas ready for the summer, but there was quite a bit of rubbish on the beach. The beach itself was good, although the section near the Concorde,Limak Lara and Sherwood Breezes is the best. There didn't seem to be much in the way of entertainment in the resort, and, although there were four large shopping centres they were almost empty, probably because nothing had the price on and I suppose after asking you were supposed to barter.

The resort itself is a very quite one and does not have any discos etc, and has very little to do outside of the hotel in the evening. Hotels put on entertainment which is good enough entertainment but you miss not being able to walk around at night, this could be just the time of year we were there as it got dark around 5.00pm. When shoping the local people are very pleased to help you and very nice people to talk to.

We cannot comment much on the resort in general except for those points raised in the hotel review section. Entertainment in the area seemed rather limited, relying mainly on the hotels to provide their own. Most shops were very expensive with some goods likely to be cheaper in England than there.
General Tips:
1. I took previously given advice to take £'s and change into Turkish Lira at the hotel. Wrong! The rate of exchange was approx. 2.43TL to the £ in England when we went, the Hotel gave 2.36TL. Even the local bank was giving 2.38TL at the time.
2. If you want to go into Antalya order a taxi. The hotel told us that the fare would be about 30euros each way but the taxi gave us a 'special price' of 50TL for the three of us for a round trip taking us to 2 shopping areas, a market and a bazaar.
3.On the way home - Antalya Airport duty free is a con unless you pay in Euros. Their trading is only in euros (although not yet in the euro zone)and if you pay in £'s the exchange rate was nearly one £ for one Euro which is extortionate particularly as things like food were expensive anyway, (2 cans of coke, 1 small bottle of orange juice and a small bag of sweets over £10 equivalent!)
4. I was advised (at the end of the holiday) that it would have been better for us to stay in the Bodrum area as it is more popular with the British, has some good 5 star hotels and has more of a 'Turkish' atmosphere to it.
5. Turkey is not in the EC and therefore 'duty free' is restricted to the usual '200 cigs/1 litre of spirits' standard per passenger so dont be taken in by the bulk purchase special offers available in Antalya homeward bound.

The resort of lara beach is a collection of luxury hotels side by side and all on the beach. There are a selection of shops outside the hotel and a chemist right outside across the road. There is a shopping mall also and at the top is a disco night club. Take sun lotion from the uk as it can be expensive £15 for a bottle in some shops. Aso take euros because everything was priced in euros in shops.Temps got up to 40degrees we would definetly go back again.

Outside the Hotels the path's could be a bit dangerours especially in the dark,as some parts of the pavement were up and there are holes were they should be.There are only shops around the area, everything is hotel based we wanted to have a look in other hotels but we weren't allowed we had to show your hotel card.
The beach was very nice ,clean and safe with plenty of water sports extra cost to your all inclusive each hotel has a jeyy and life guards on duty.

Lara Beach consists of 5 star all inclusive hotels and some shopping complexes which all seem to be identical. Typical foreign shopping malls where you are "encouraged" by every shopkeeper to go and have a look at their goods. I didn't see any bars or restaurants, so if you didn't like the food in your hotel (which at ours wasn't possible) you were pretty stuck.
The beach was kept very clean but the sea could at times be quite rough.
Saying all that, I still wouldn't hesitate to go back.
