Just arrived back this morning from the Arum Hotel. The positives were the hotel is spotless, pool, pool area and gardens are immaculate and the food, for only a week duration is very good but repetitive. The negatives though spoilt out stay. As already mentioned in previous reviews this hotel is catered for our german friends. The attitudes of the staff, mainly at the reception and the pool bar are very disappointing. I lost count of the number of times I was overlooked and ignored in favour of serving german guests. In order to be heard and dealt with you had to shout out first. They didn't seem to pleased to serve the english at all. Secondly we all know about the germans/towel/beds scenario, on holiday i like to relax and not have to set my alarm!! but in order to get our sunbeds anywhere near the pool then i had to get up at 6am to lay our towels because by the time i got down to the pool area the majority were taken. This is a big problem at the hotel and it should be reviewed immediately. The entertainment on a night for a 5star hotel is very poor so we found ourselves leaving the hotel for entertainment elsewhere. And lastly if you have a late flight, i.e during the night, be aware the checkout time is midday, bus was picking us up at 23.45. We emailed the hotel prior to arriving asking to keep the room, at a charge, and were informed that it wouldn't be a problem, but while we were there the staff on reception refused point blank and did not want to help us in any way. It wasn't until we spoke to the manager and explained our situation and the email we sent that the decision was overturned and we kept the room till 6pm.

Just returned from the Arum Hotel and had the most fantastic holiday. This is a 5* hotel without doubt. Every where is immaculately clean and the gardens are beautiful. Had clean sheets and towels everyday. Free beach towels which you also change everyday. Free safe in room which we have never had before. Staff are very friendly. Yes it is mainly German and Russians but we prefer this than a hotel full of English yobs. I cant comment on the entertainment at night as we went out and about. Would definately return here.

This is a german owned hotel catering for Germans, the staff spoke very poor English.

The hotel is spotlessly clean, linen and towels changed every day.

Evening meals were good generally, a lot of pasta dishes and 30 different salads, 20 different sweets.

Breakfasts ok if you like cereals and eggs, no pork based dishes e.g bacon.

Hotel out of town but flag down a passing mini bus and pay 50p to get to town.

Entertainment at night was rubbish. In the bar a german duo sang gibberish if they forgot the words, there is a disco of sorts but we didn'nt bother, the Brothers 100 yards away is quite a good bar, belly dancers etc.Trips expensive but good.

Hotel is moving towards Brits so 3 or 4 years should see a really good hotel, at the moment we wouldn't go back.

We stayed in the Arum hotel for 3 nights as we originally booked for the Hemera Hotel 100yards down the road.We were told on arrival they had overbooked the Hemera so we had to stay here.
I agree with most other positive comments regarding the Arum apart from, on a night after the shows in the ampitheatre til 10.30pm there really wasn't any form of entertainment or music for ourselves or our son(11 yrs old).Unless we missed somewhere because we were there only 3 nights we ended up going to bed early out of sheer boredom. We were told not to tell other English guests whilst we were there that we were "all inclusive"(only because they had moved us) as they only do "all inclusive" deals for other nationalities but not English guests, why,I don't know!!!It is geared up more for the Germans and Russians so if you don't like this then don't book to go.
Overall I wouldn't visit this hotel again with my son and husband as we need more entertainment on a night.

The Arum is an excellent hotel right on the beach and in 08 it should be even better as it it being closed in November for a 5 month refurbishment.

The guests were very mixed with quite a few Russians and Germans but we also met Austrians, Swedes and of course Brits. Not too many kids even in July.

The rooms were cleaned daily and were spotless.

The Arum is in large grounds with very large pools and with a large sandy beach just at the end. The security team were always on the look out for who should not be there, so was an excellent safe environment even for children. It never felt crowded even when we knew it was fully booked. If you want a sunbed by the poolside you needed to play the get up early and put a towel down game but there was always plenty of comfortable beds on the beach , which was made clean every day . Beds all had sun shades and were well spread out . No need to take towels as the hotel provides clean ones everyday.

Water sports on the beach were good, paragliding, banana boat, ringos and they also run trips much cheaper than Thomas Cook. The whitewater rafting was one fifth of the price ( 125 YTL for 4 of us)and should not be missed although you need to be warned there is a price to be paid, there is a lot of pick ups at the beginning and end mucking about taking unnecessary photos. But truly great fun even for those with young children. They also run a trip to a water park ( 80 YTL for all of us ) but it stops twice on the way , so does not arrive till 12 but well worth it once you get, lots of great slides. However heard poor reports of some of the boat trips and the Thomas Cook's Turkish bath trip was described as a total waste of time. Could also be a good description of their rep could not even get the times of meetings or pickups correct.

The evening trip to a well preserved Roman amphitheatre at Aspendos is also recommended to see The Fire of Anatolia. A good show and a great atmosphere giving you an impression of what it must have been like 2,000 years ago .

The large mostly Russian animation team were excellent, at running bowls, Volleyball, archery and aqua gym which we tried many times. The also run the entertainment in a superb purpose built theatre. They were professional ballet dancers and put in a lot of effort with the shows. Not sure about the comedy but the dancing was very professional with lots of elaborate costumes.

Lots for all ages with the adult games being just that but we heard great reports of kids club and they even had a teenage version. In fact I would really recommend this as a fantastic place for families with teenagers. A place you could give them lots of space and freedom as it was secure and the hotel even has it's own professionally equipped nightclub where we felt OK to let our 15 year old son go with his similar aged friends without adult supervision with confidence.

The food was good and we always eat on the outside terrace where the specials were cooked. Trout, Sea Bass , salmon and home made kebabs amongst them but always something in a large choice to take your fancy.

The hotel apparently has a 25% return rate and we understand why, we met many people who had been more than 5 times.

This hotel was were we went for our honeymoon. I am very glad we chose it as it was perfect for realxing and chilling out after the hecticness of the wedding.

Lovely grounds, gardens and the room was also nice.

The best feature was the pools, the best I have ever seen!! The hotel was very well layed out.

The hotel is mostly germans. If you go you have to get up early for a swim like we did and watch them all march down at 6am to put there towles on their sunbeds at the beach, soooo funny!!!

We have just got back from the Arum hotel...

Firstly let me say that it is a very nice hotel, the pool is the best pool I've ever seen.

The rooms are lovely and cleaned everyday, the whole hotel was very clean...

Location......out on a limb, there's not alot going on around the hotel, a few bars and shops, you need to walk into town(45 mins walk), or 7-10 mins in taxi..we walked along the beach, but it got to much for my 6 year old.....

Food.........was ok, alot of choice but don't stay here if you want Turkish food, not alot of it here. Breakfast was so boring, egg, egg,or more egg..unless you like cereal, or cheese........We got really bored of the food here, very German, so ate out even though we were half board..

The hotels first language is Turkish, followed by German, there English is not very good, but then my Turkish isn't to good either...The hotel is 80 per cent German, 20 per cent English, there was hardly any other English people here while we where there....

Some of the bar staff were lovely some wasn't, the entertainment staff especially the kids club staff were great, my little lad loved going to the kids club. Theres one lovely young lady who works there with the kids and shes great and very friendly..

I wouldn't go back to this hotel again, a bit to out the way for us, if you like staying in your hotel every night then may be this is the place 4 you...

Have just had a great 2 weeks in the Hotel Arum in December 2005. Weather was mixed but overall not bad as well as you can expect in late December.

As most of the reports say this hotel is a great place to stay, with most of the staff being very friendly and the food is of a very high standard with plenty of choice at all meals. The Christmas Gala meal included in the price we paid, was waiter served but all other meals are from the buffet.

The hard working animation team put on a show every few days that is good entertainment, and they also arranged the daytime activities; archery and boules etc. The music in the lobby bar at night tends to be a bit tired as it

The Elit Koseoglu hotel was in a great location, amongst the shops and bars and near the beach.

The hotel was basic but I have come to expect that and what do I want for

Lovely hotel and lovely hotel staff, all worked really hard to keep everywhere spotless.

Mostly German guests although the British are beginning to make a impact. Did think that this hotel is possibly a Thomson Gold for the Germans, quite a few older people there and the entertainment geared very much to them but the location, people, bars and restaurants in area more that made up for this.

Would love to go back again sometime.
