The esra appartments was very nice and it is family friendly fun.
The rooms was cleaned every day and the staff are very friendly the location is great just near dolphin sqaure where you can shop, eat and drink. The pool is great for kids because of the amazing wateslide. we asked for a room which overlooked the pool, which we got and the view is great. The only bad thing about the hotel is the rooms are abut outdated they could do with a refurbishment. I have been twice and I would love to go again

We stayed at this hotel July 2009. Rooms were small, and not alot of wardrope space for a family of 3. Rooms were cleaned on a daily basis, but there was an awful smell from the drains in the hotel, and all of our party suffered very bad stomache problems on this holiday. The staff were friendly enough but the service was very slow, some evenings we went back to the hotel for a drink and waited over half an hour for drinks to be served, i can understand this if the staff were very busy, but this was not the case. The food was always served cold and we waited ages on anything we ordered. The food was reasonably priced. The pool area was very busy during the day and we could never get sunbeds, and everyone was fighting over beds as some had left towels and gone out. there are two very small pools for the size of the hotel, and there is always loud music playing. We felt there was just no atmosphere in this hotel evening and daytime. If you have a room on the front be prepared for the loud music from the two pubs across the road, this can go on until 3-4am.

Arrived at 5.30 in tne morning and checked in and got keys and were nearly in the lift when the receptionist came running after us and jammed a sheet of paper into our hands, turned out it was a set menu! Nobody had told us of this and would certainly never have gone half board if we had! Breakfast every day was a turkish breakfast or cornflakes and tea. Anything else like toast or orange juice, you had to pay for!! Dinner was no better, choice of two meals, and turned out they were basically the same things each night albeit called different names to make you think you were getting something different!!And all this to look forward to for 2 weeks, cos its the same menu week after week!! Never go half board here!!
Entertainment was no better, only decentish for 2 nights on "special nights" and half board had to pay to watch it, if you refused you were herded indoors for your "meal" and were not allowed out to watch it, you could watch it through the window though!Any specials on, ie cheap drinks with meals etc, half board wre not given this privilege.
If in main block at front, you will not get to sleep till at least 3.30 am because of 2 bars across the road seeing who can play the loudest music. Got to pay for aircon, got to pay (if self catering) for a toassyter, got to pay for loo rolls! They do give you 1st one free, Gee they are all heart!!Will never be back here again, wouldnt even let my worst enemy go to it!!
A few people ended up in hospital with ear infections owing to a murky swimming pool too.

I think we just had an unlucky week. No power 3 times but not hotels fault, but no lift or lights.Staff not very happy but always bombarding you to book for evening activities. Rooms clean but we had a cracked bathroom sink. A bit cheeky you have to pay 30 pound for air con and 12 for toaster. Maids always had a smile for us. Music very loud round pool area all day and at night hard to sleep due to entertainment which was repeated quite often. Area around pool very slippery. We never stayed in at night, seemed rowdy, lots of kareoke.Hotel located about half hour walk to third beach, opposite two bars that stay open til early hours of the morning. We were opposite rubbish bins. There are no pavemants to walk on so you take your life in your hands, It's just a dusty, rubbely road in all directions. Area had loads of dogs that just roamed the streets. Would not come to this hotel again.

Just returned from these apartments yesterday, and have booked up for to go back next year for 2 weeks.
Hotel was very clean towels changed nearly every day.
Pools are in my top 10 and the staff are so friendly!!
We stayed 4th floor up ,and totally enjoyed it.Although there was no paths directly out side, but there was when you walked a little up the road, this did not affect our holiday. It is about a 10 min walk to the town.
We have stayed in better apartments, but payed a lot to do that.As my husband says if you want 5 star then be prepared to pay for it.
The slides are spot on ,Didn't like the BBQ night .
There was lots of noise from the bars across the road, but hey were on holiday! :)
I would give the Esra a 8 out of 10

I travelled with my Wife and daughter to the Esra not knowing what to expect having read some different reviews.

The hotel is exceptionally clean and apartments are cleaned nearly every day and towels changed as well.

They have themed nights the best of these is the best of Esra night with an open buffet to start and set course for meal and desert.

Entertainment is excellent with something for every one.

The staff are fantastic always have time to speak with staff and always smiling especially Rose, Jason, Jasim, Mehmet, JJ, Urgh, Ronaldo.

We were not affected by the noise as we were on the top floor near the back overlooking the pool and water slides which are fantastic.

We are not a family for visiting the same place twice however we loved it so much the day after we came home we booked again for next year.

The staff at the Esra really work hard to make sure you have an excellent holiday

The were fortunate to have a spacious room overlooking the pool. It could be noisy at night but to be honest we were the ones having the late nights anyway!
The food was delicious and I especially enjoyed the Turkish breakfast. The staff were very entertaining even though they must have been exhausted working the long hours in such hot weather. Without a doubt the staff made the holiday.
We made use of the free bus (dolmus) service to the beach. We stayed on the pontoon which was lovely (day and night).
The entertainment at the hotel was fantastic (and unexpected). They involved all guests and provided games for the children. We were mesmorised by the Turkish dancing. I particularly loved the breakdancing act.

We spent 1 week in the Esra and found this to be really nice, staff were extremely friendly and could not fault them at all and also management. Tania (manageress) really put herself out when i became ill from mosquito bites and she took me to hospital and even stayed with me...not many would do that. The food is amazing, especially the BBQ night and the turkish night(the chefs are immaculatly dressed with hats and gloves for hygiene). The sunday dinner day is a must too (its only 50p per pint all day). Across the road is the Zanzibar and the sports bar which are ok but wouldn't recommend eating in Zanzibar(food not upto scratch). Next to apartments is where you pay for daytrips, e,g jeep safari, which is a must and i must say we have never laughed so much on that safari,it was the best ever and still talk about it now. Mehmet does the turkish baths(located downstairs) and is also a must to give you a better tan (would recommend this when you get there though). Town is 10 mins walk away, which is not bad. Overall as a rule we don't book for the same place twice but for the Esra we are going back again this year just to see our friends (staff).
