Just returned from a one week stay at the La Luna, and have to say we had a great time. We were quite dubious after reading several negative reviews and were seriously considering cancelling or trying to change hotels. We are glad that we didn't as the hotel is not as bad as made out.

The rooms are quite spacious, although our balcony was a little small and we didn't have much of a view. The cleaners do a fantastic job and change the bed sheets and towels everyday. If we ever needed extra pillows, towels, toilet roll etc all we had to do was ask and it was brought to us straight away. The water is solar powered and therefore if you want a hot shower on an evening, you are best to have one around 6pm. From about 7pm onwards the water gets a bit cooler, but not freezing which is sometimes appreciated after a long hot day. The room was air conditioned and it was nice to come back to after a day in the hot sunshine. The only complaint is the carpet in our room was a bit grubby.

The food was great and there was plenty of choice for everyone. The Turkish kebab and pitta bread were lovely and the desserts were delicious. We ate out twice during our stay, although we didn't need to as the food was great at the hotel, but we fancied a change. We ate at 'The Golden Knife' restaurant on the beachfront and they did the best steak ever.

The staff were friendly and did all they could to help us. The animation team kept everyone entertained night and day and all the staff work very hard.

The hotel is in a good location, next to the beach and a short walk to Gumbet centre. The pool looked nice although we preferred the beach as it was less crowded and a bit cooler with the sea breeze.

You could catch the local bus (Dolmus) straight outside the hotel in to Bodrum which we did a few times as there was lots to see there.

All in all we had a great stay and would definitely book to stay at the La Luna again.

Of all the holidays we have ever taken ,this one has got to go down as the worst, the place could only be compared to a sewage plant, as thats what it smelt like, there where great big insects crawling all over the place and dead mice at the bottom of the pool!! The food was attrocious, comparative only to a soup kitchen, it was served on dirty plates and the drinks in dirty glasses, how they get away with it I will never know, have never written on one of these notice boards before but feel I need to warn others, before they get drawn in by the offer of a cheap holiday and the thought that things can't be that bad, well they can, they take the food what people have left on their plates and put it back on the buffet!! You would have to see it to believe it and we did, the rooms are a health hazard with broken switches hanging out the walls and taps that dont work, we where one of the lucky ones apparently because our toilet flushed!! The hot water is only on four about half an hour a day so if you miss it thats it and beware the flea ridden cats that jump through your windows and sleep on your beds!
The carpets in the rooms have never seen a hoover and are full of stains from god only knows what and their are used condoms all over the place that the staff just dont seem to see for some reason! If this is your type of thing good luck to you, just take your anti-biotics and flea powder with you!

We have just arrived home from the La Luna today we arrived three on the 16 Oct at about 4pm. We were taken to our room which was small but ok we then went to the bar which is by the pool it was a digrace. The top of the bar was dirty all around the bar was the same the plastic cups we got our drinks in were dirty and it also smelt disgusting.

As for the food it was always cold a choice of chicken or turkey for every meal accept breakfast.

There was no entertainment there was also a lack of sunbeds and as the days went on things seem to get worse.

We also had no hot water to shower with for the fortnight, I complained to reception and to the rep and still nothing was done.

As for saying that it is a 4 star hotel we would not even rate it as a 2 star

We found this hotel to be very clean, the staff very friendly.

The food could have been better but the all inclusive was a soft option so we really didn't expect any thing else.

Our room was away from the pool area which I was very grateful for as it was very noisy at the pool.

The hotel is perfect placed just a short walk over a football pitch to the beach and the town was a five minute stroll.

The thing that spoilt our holiday was a young English male who decided to pick fights and arguments with the staff.

All in all this was a cheap holiday and worth every penny.
the drinks were not watered down as other people have said and the bar staff tried to serve as fast as they could the hotel could do with 2 bars and more tables for the restaurant but we would return to this hotel.

This is our first time that we have been all inclusive which really speaking was a joke. We normally do half board which suites us.

The food was ok if you were a rabbit sorry. The hot meat was cold, no variation chicken or turkey. If you wanted to eat decent food you had to go out to one of the many bars.

The cleanliness I've only given a 3 there is carpet on the bedroom floor, which was dirty, never seen an hoover. We were going to pull the beds together but thought better of it.

Can't fault the location not far from all the main places

The staff were very friendly.

The entertainment well thank my lucky stars that we didn't have a room by the pool say no more.

We like Gumbet we would go back thare again but not to La Luna thank you

We arrived at the hotel at around 5pm to be told that our room wasn't ready and that we would have to spend the night at another nearby hotel. The Hotel was nice but it was a very inconvenient start! From then on after this initial problem was solved, we did have a great holiday.

The hotel was very modern and the rooms were cleaned every day with fresh towels and bedding! The hotel had a lovely pool although it was short on sunbeds and the music and entertainment around the pool although not appreciated by all was alwys a winner with us .

The food was basic but there was something to suit everyone in our party, snack time was especially good and we didnt have any problems with the drinks,we were able to go back as often as you like and the staff were very efficient.

The location of the hotel suited us perfectly as it was close to the beach and only a short walk to bar street. There was visible building work although they weren't working on it during the season.

The best bit about the hotel was the friendly attitude of all the staff. They always worked to please us and although the entertainment was basic, i.e Bingo, karoke and dancing it was always fun to watch before leaving the hotel for the nightlife.

We all had a fantastic holiday and this was mainly due to the hotel and the staff, we would all certainly go back!!

Arrived at the hotel at 5am and went to the room where we greeted by 3 single beds in one (small)room for 3 adults. The beds were less than half a metre apart. To make matters worse the room faced a building site! NOT impressed. Went to reception on 3 occassions to try and get the room changed, this was denied - even when we found a room that was being unoccupied that day the hotel staff refused to help us.

In terms of the hotel being a 4 star rating, it certainly is NOT! More like a 2 star.
