had the best first holiday with my partner at the hotel. had great fun when the slides were on yet if you wanted to relax more the upper pool was great a little more deeper. rooms were basic but had all you need. the dolmuses were a godsend even though it was a nice walk to either ladies beach or the harbour. yes the hill climb to the hotel is a killer but the views when you get there are amazing. willdefinately be returning

We was so looking forword to staying in this hotel, had read it was good ,the brochure said good things about but i'm sorry we was so dissapointed with it,let me tell you why, on arriving very late at night it looked great but in the morning when we had a proper look it was on a steep hill now nothing was mention about this in the brochure, there was a childrens play ground there but it was for younger children but we thought well never mind there is always the waterslides to go on but we found out they are only on at certain times, the frequent day time actitives that was supposed to be on well we are stilling waiting for them thats all i can say about that,in the evening it said (in the brochure) frequent entertaiment well that was once while we were there and it lasted an hour we did find out though the week before it was on every night now i can understand it if it was coming to the end of the season but this was the begining of september.
The room was ok not much storage space, the bathroom was shabby and could do with a complete refit, the shower leaked every time you went in it there was water every where we did report it but all the house keeper said was "oh", please be very carefull if you have got children with the bathroom door, you can lock the door from inside by pushing a button on the handle it is very easily done but you can't open it from the outside at all, my little boy decided one day to lock the door when coming out of the bathroom and never said anything when we went to go in we couldn't open it at all i had to go down to reception and tell them they then found a key and came up to open it for us,there was 3 of us in the room but sometimes we only got towels for 2 off us,
The balcony was very tiny only a width of a chair you couldn't really sit out on it,one day some towels blew of the balcony on to the roof below so my husband went to see if he could get them has they were near the fire escape, he couldn't get through the fire escape door due to mattress being there, it was blocked when we told them on reception they just said "oh" again, the buffet breakfast contained a choice of 2 cerals a few salad items and scrambled or boiled eggs if you got down when the put breakfast out ie 8am they were hot any later and they was cold you could also have toast tea or coffee, it was the same thing every day.

As my partner is Turkish, we visit turkey on a regular basis to visit family and friends, this time however my partner was working back in USA ( as we used to live there)
I went to this hotel with my daughter and had a ball!
The staff are amazing, the entertainment was limited but when they did have it, it was great and the buffet BBQ dinner was great ! The best about it was they actually did a real Turkish breakfast which we love !
The swimming pools are amazing too, great if you have kids, well BIG kids as well !
I would have no hesitation in staying at the Lion again, it is very friendly with fantastic pools.
The only downside is it is set on bank, the bus takes you straight to centre and drops you off but you still have the killer bank to tackle! If you are fit its fine!
Had a great time though, our thanks to the staff!

Hotel pools and bar areas always spotless rooms basic
and small bathrooms have a shower only.
Plenty of snacks and meals available throughout the day
resonable price compared with the food in town.
View from hotel top pool stunning clear view over the
sea to samos only problem being heart-break hill 400m uphill to the hotel.
Got taxis at night to save legs. Dolmus ran every 5 minutes to take you to ladies beach or the town which were about a 15 minute walk away.
Staff helpful and polite always willing to help with any problem or give advice about the resort.
Entertainment when we decided to stop in was more than enough to keep the kids and adults entertained for a few hours.
Yes stunning view and made some friends for life!

It,s the 9th time we,ve been to Turkey and this was without doubt the nicest room we,ve ever had (small as all Turkish rooms) very clean.
we loved the location very quiet so easy to sleep but 15 min walk to centre of town or short dolmus ride. about the same to Ladies beach.
Fantastic pool area and a small pool as well, with water slides.
The staff were superb the best I have encountered in all my visits (we didn,t think it would be possible to top some of whom we,ve met before)
The entertainment was the usual turkish night etc.
We would have no problems in recommending this hotel.

The Lion was a great family hotel. Has waterslides, childrens park - keeps the kids entertained!
The food is very good and have a good range of snacks throughout the day plus they have different theme nights, including food at reasonable prices. The staff are very friendly and hardworking and a few of them run some of the entertainment nights.
They also have a huge TV screen which they have on for football, also they have Movies of the Day if its too hot outside.
Its in a quiet residential area of Kusadasi, but the dolmus stop is at the bottom of the street and you are situated smack bang in between Ladies Beach and Kusadasi centre so is in a good location.
You can also walk to Pigeon Island from the hotel and there is also a small pebble beach about 10 mins walk away. It is nice and quiet there and not has hectic as Ladies Beach and the sea is alot calmer there.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, the maids really make an effort in decorating your bed for you. The rooms have phone/hairdryer and satellite tv which we found to have a bbc channel so was happy with that!
If I were to visit Kusadasi again I would definitely stay at the Lion again as it was fantastic value for money.
