Seaview worth the upgrade - best to email them on advance.
Family rooms are best further back from the beach as noisy animation area plays loud music at times.

We also ate out a couple of nights. The food in ‘Freeboys’ was good and the staff are friendly also. Yilmaz, Kalender and the manager of Freeboys- Ahmed worked in the Palmin a few years ago! (if you come out of the hotel and go left down the hill and take the second left by the yellow market and follow the road down you will pass freeboys) if you keep following this road, which is also one of the ways down to ‘ladies beach’ you will see Daisy’s restaurant which is excellent and is more laid back then Freeboys! This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.
Finally the ‘Dolmuº’ service is excellent and works out really cheap. Shopping in the centre is definitely an experience! People are always trying to get you to come into their shops, and even though it drove me crazy the first few days I quickly got used to it! What I found handy was to ask them for their business cards, and you could then go on your way without having to actually go into their shop! The Friday market is definitely worth a look. If you do go make sure you go in the morning before it gets too hot and before the crowds arrive. All the locals seem to go in the evening, and they rush around with their trolleys so mind you feet!!! Make sure you shop around especially when buying t-shirts as the price varies a lot. Haggling takes a bit of getting used to but worth the effort. Turkey is the place to buy beautiful jewellery.
Overall the holiday was extremely enjoyable and I will definitely be going back next year!!!

The resort is very good for shopping and partying and there is lots of excursions available for all age groups.
Bar street is fun and the cocktails strong! though it can all get a bit repetious. Still find out for yourselves!!!

There are over 7 beaches in the Kusadasi area so get on a bus and look around. The shop workers work on a commission only basis so thats why they all want you to buy from them. A polite No thanks will stop most of them.
Bar street is for the young at heart my advise is to steer clear with small kids. There are plenty of good places to eat and if its fish your after ask a taxi to take you onto the main road to Macits where although not as cheap as town the food is outstanding!!
When haggling cut the price shown in half and meet in the middle; if you feel unhappy then walk away. How many mums did I see with screaming babies in the summer. They did not have sunscreen and hats on; no wonder they were screaming. Please think of the heat. I saw one girl faint in the heat because she had no hat on and it was lunchtime.
Carry a bottle of water with you it makes sense.
Buying a holiday home; hurry up the prices are going up daily.
Kusadasi on the whole. We love it and go back time and time again. Cheap; fun; safe for the whole family. YOU MUST GO!!

We gradually found we spent more and more time poolside rather than frequenting the beaches and bars. Both daytime and evening entertainment was non repetitive and very good. Prices at the hotel are no more and sometimes less than that of other bars in the vicinity and the kids were well entertained by the very pleasant and well mannered waiters and waitresses who all could speak very good english.
Every whim and fancy was catered for at the palm club. Daytime snacks were freshly prepared and the children never tired of the facilities.
The evening entertainment was both fresh and suitable for everyone of all ages. The hotel had a wide range of guests when we were there and everyone seemed to gel together and partake in the dancing and merryment. The music so often a downer after trying to please all age ranges was expertly run and controlled by Mustafa (the owner) and we certainly learnt a few new steps that will come in useful this year!
I cant thank the team at the palm club apartments enough and look forward to Mustafa arranging my daughters wedding for 2006 in what we now endear as our second home.

Kusadasi is a beautiful little town. It boasts some beautiful beaches that are all very clean. Nightlife in Kusadasi is not too bad, but it tends to get a bit boring after a few nights out as every bar is practically the same and plays the same music.
One thing that I do not like about the resort, but I believe this happens all over Turkey, is the pressure that is put on you to go into the bars, restraunts or shops. There are people standing outside everywhere asking you to go into their premises. Some will even follow you down the street. I found this very annoying and often lost my temper with these people.
Overall, Kusadasi is a lovely place and I would definately go back again.

The center of town was pretty clean during the day - nothing you wouldn't expect from a busy place. The Bars in the centre of town were a bit rubbish - all very similer to each other and all fighting to get your custom. I know a couple of the lads were ripped off in some of the bars due to confusion over the 000,000's in the money and their drunken state. At no point though did I feel scared or meet anything but friendlyness in any of the bars or streets. I'm not too sure ladies on their own would feel the same way though, and lads on the pull will have their work cut out against the turkish lads.
Most of the shops sell fakes - if that's you thing then fine, but a lot of the fakes are very poor quality/fitting. If I want a fake, I want it to look genuine. There is a lot of constant hassle to enter shops/stalls and then the bargaining to get to a sensible price. Totally different to the western idea of shopping. Shop around a bit though - prices are a lot higher along the main couple of roads than they are along the bike streets.
Restaurants are like the bars in that they fight for your custom - some places were great for food (Planet Yucca - but poor at getting drinks oddly), others awful and a lot more expensive (The Kalyion - something like that). Have a scan at the food other people are eating (and how busy).
Went on a day trip to Efes with Discovery tours - Effes was worth going to for about 2-3 hours, but I'd take a taxi and buy a guide book from one of the countless sellers. The rest of the tour wasn't really worth it (Virgin mary's house is for the keen religious only) - Discovery also decided to take us to a gold & jewellery "factory" - it was a blatent attempt to sell stuff. Prices were steep for rubbish, incredibly steep for good stuff (Watch in Ireland 400 yoyos, same watch in "factory" 1100 yoyos). Later on in the afternoon we were also taken to a leather "factory" for a 30 minute fashion show - none of the factories were on the tours itinery. The whole tour could have taken ~4 hours but with the bumbling staff, driver and attempts to sell stuff we were out from 8 until nearly 6.
I wouldn't go back to Kushadasi - there are a lot of better places out there.
