Location
We were allocated a room with no balcony which overlooked the entertainment area so if you ever decided you would like a quiet siesta or an early night you were out of luck. Although the rooms are provided with clean laundry on a regular basis the cleanliness of the room left something to be desired. The bathrooms were disgusting and no matter which way you pointed the shower it would always flood the floor. The air conditioning was non-existent and you only have to look at the pages and pages of complaints about the air conditioning to see what I mean. The food is very much the same every night. Although there is always plenty of it and loads of salad. If you have a sweet tooth this is the ideal place to be.
Apart from the reception staff I found most of the other staff friendly once they had got to know you.
The swimming pool is good with plenty of loungers however you have to be up at 7 to get an umbrella as there are only 30 for the 400 guests that can be accommodated at this hotel. Unless you like sun of 48 degrees without shade try the beach. No one advises you that the hotel has a stretch of beach with sun loungers which are free to hotel guests where you are waited on hand and foot by beach boys that cater for your every need. Also for each two sun loungers there is an umbrella.
The entertainers are very friendly but if you spend two weeks you will find it very repetitive. In fact the quiz they do on a weekly basis is exactly the same, so if you write down the answers one week you will know them for the next week.
I know they are trying to improve this hotel, the reception waiting area was decorated with artificial plants whilst I was there, but I am sure the money would have been better spent on air conditioning so that you could sit in comfortable surroundings without being tired and irritable with the constant heat.

Although we booked 3 beds and only got 2 then when we asked for a bed it was broken then we finally got a nice and clean bed. If I had to give Abacus Metropol a mark out of 10 I would personally give them 8.
People who worked in the hotel were very pleasent and I enjoyed my 7 days staying at this hotel.
I would go back again.

There are plenty of sunloungers, parasols and bean bags with poolside and grassed areas in which to sunbathe. The pool is a suntrap all through the day.
Our room was clean and tidy with enough storage space for our clothes.
The hotel staff were all very nice and would always try to understand and help us with any questions we might have had. The waiters and bar staff were all extremely efficient - the bar staff would serve at least two people at once which we found very talented to translate and remember what was asked for and from whom.
We found the food to be typically Turkish, which is what we expected as we were in Turkish, not a British, hotel. The food was very enjoyable as we both like to sample the local cuisine.
There was a fabulous salad cart which you would find many different types of salad items including some ready mixed salads. The deserts were also very tasty with many to choose from and lots to go around everyone.
The entertainment wasn't great but there was music throughout the day at the poolside and in the evenings with different music at the poolside bar area and the indoor bar area in the evenings.
We did have a Turkish night where the Chef's cooked and served some items outside like Kebab's and a thin bread then we had a belly dancer who was very entertaining pulling the guests up to try out some belly dancing techniques, and some break-dancing was also performed. Even though there was not a huge amount of entertainment we still enjoyed ourselves every night with other guests and the hotel staff.
The hotel is right in the centre of the resort so you do not have to walk far to go to the beach or to any of the shops.
We would definately return to this hotel as we enjoyed ourselves so much and got an amazing tan from the pool area.

The bar staff were friendly and fast. We have had experiences of all inclusive in Turkey where we ate out every meal, not at this hotel, the food was good with a large variety of hot and cold foods to suit every taste.
The hotel has a sister hotel just across the road where the bar is a bit more lively and is covered by your all inclusive deal (Abacus Idas).
Step out of this hotel walk for 5 minutes and you are in the centre of Icmeler or a few more steps and you are on the beach. Our room was spotless with the maid visiting every day. It was also large enough to hold a dance in it. One problem is that not all rooms have a balcony.
We had a fantastic holiday with Goltrail staying at the Park Metropol, the new management team at this hotel are really making an effort to please and I do intend to return to Icmeler to stay at the Metropol.

The rooms were disgusting, a/c a laugh.
People kept getting stuck in the lift.
The food was the same nearly every day we could not eat it. The lager was flat only vodka, gin, raki and brandy they would not give you ice.
You had to pay

Well my good friends where and how do I start to tell you about this place ?. I have been honest about the good and bad things as I am not the kind of man that talks sh*te and my report is worth reading.
I am 55 years old old and without bragging or sounding flash I have been to many counties on holidays since the late 60s so I do know what I am on about and would only tell you truths how I found this hotel.
I was here from 1st August 2005 for a week. People who were there will remember me as I was the right big Cockney fella with massive scars across my stomach from hospital surgery.
If you like air con then go to another hotel as waving a hanky across your face would cool you down better than the air con at this hotel as it was a joke. We changed rooms after I complained and the air con in the 2nd room was also a non runner.
The staff were great and were clean and helpful. The sheets and towels are changed every day. The rooms were from the early 1970s when glam rock was about. Rooms have not been touched since Showaddywaddy were number 1 in the charts. Rooms were very clean but the decor was based on the days of the 1st years of Corrie. The food was not bad all Turkish but we knew it was before we booked. The lobby was like a sauna as no air con worked anywhere and in over 100 degrees daily people were panting for air. We spent time with people going out in the evenings and the night life is great.
For an all inclusive holiday it was crap. Beer was OK but spirits were rationed. No Bacardi Rum Whisky just cheap Vodka, brandy and Beer. They turn the lights off in the outside sitting area just after 12 at night, just like the lights go out in jail. You cant sit in the lobby as you will be roasted and cooked within an hour so bed or go out is the only options.
Too many Germans at this hotel about 70% so not many of your own people to get in company with and to make friends unless you like the Germans as much as we all like the French (ha ha ha )
Swimming Pool is OK not bad but not many sun-beds as most are broken. Get up early to put your towels down as the Germans do like to get up early don

As soon as we arrived at the hotel, the staff welcomed us and offered to help us take our bags to our rooms.
We had asked for a family room (which accommodates 4) and a double room, so that 4 people were sleeping in 1 room and 1 in the other. We were given 2 double rooms and none of them had a balcony. A campbed was set up in the corner of one room.
One of the bathrooms had mould growing on the ceiling above the bath and the other had a leak which meant we were walking in water 2 inches deep. We had a small rail outside the windows to dry our washing on. The window in one room didn't close properly, so we had to leave it open at night time and risk getting bitten by mosquitoes.
The food at the hotel was awful. It was very repetitive and tasteless. Every day, the lunch and dinner were: rice, pasta, some kind of vegetable and some kind of meat. Some days you would get soup, some days you would get pancakes, but these were only once a week if you were lucky.
The staff had to write what the food is on plates, as if you just looked at it, you would't have a clue! Some of the food included: Priest Meat Stew, Omlette Soup, Cauliflower in Tomato Soup, Fish Potatoes and Rice Soup. Most nights we had to eat out, as we couldn't even face looking at the food. We ended up spending over 1000 English pounds on eating and drinking out. If you told other holiday makers you were staying at Park Metropol, they're response would be 'Hospital Food'.
The staff were friendly enough although not may of them spoke English. There was only one particular waiter that wasn't very nice.
The entertainment included a belly dancer who was only bothered about getting you're money, and a keyboard player. He played the same 2 songs all the time and didn't smile at all.
I would recommend you don't stay at this hotel, we shall certainly never be going back.

True enough it is an ageing Hotel from the 80's but it was clean and tidy and the linen was change every day so clenliness was spot on. There was plenty of Hot Water which is unusual even in some of the four star hotels we have stayed in.
Bottom line is you get what you pay for, expect to pay around

The hotel needs a few quid spending on it. It is like a 70's time warp, only good things I can say is nice pool, but can be a bit smelly from the drainage gutters, good weather, and clean rooms and hotel foyer.
The food is great if you are German or Dutch, English have to eat out but thats only

Food was diabolical for an all inclusive, with no fruit apart from melon and only roast meat and woodshavings as the vegetarian option was called.
There was no entertainment in the evenings and only 4 bottles of drink behind the bar...vodka, gin, brandy, beer.
I would not recommend this hotel ever....if you need to stay, make sure you carry plenty of anti depressants with you....and good luck!
