The Grand Saral, Although improved from previous reports wasn't upto scratch in my eyes.

The Hotel's Cleanliness itself was very good, although on the other hand, our room was never hoovered or cleaned, we had to get our own linen from a cart left outside and were given towels everyday which were not needed. Unfortunately due to tiles being in the door area, my dad slipped, in which he broke and fractured his arm and spent the majority of his holiday in Caria hospital, which was located in Marmaris.

The hotel's food is not fantastic, but the ability to cross the road and eat at the Abacus Metropol which had the same food, but carried a larger selection since it caters more for children through to teens. Ice here are taken from bagged ice but salads washed in water are still questionable.

The hotels location is smack bang in the middle of Icmeler with local shops and food resturants surrounding it. i found some local shops were very good in dealing with you now the "No Hassle" law has been enforced. I found a little shop called the "Local Herbalist" which sold fresh Turkish Delight and unusual Teas.

Although upon arrival the staff seemed demanding asking for 30 Leera and a passport as a deposit but apart from this, hotel staff were very good. The boys at reception were always willing to help and sometimes seemed like they never left the hotel, the manager of the bar ( we often called her the Dragon ) was unreasonable at times, once 11 pm struck they then charged rediculous prices for soft drinks. The guys and girls at the bar were always with a smile on their face.

in the lines of entertainment, there was none in this hotel, unfortunately you had to travel to other hotels or bars/resturants since this hotel seemed to have nothing for children, teenages or young adults.

Although the hotel is of better standard then previous years i would not goto this hotel again simply because the food and entertaiment is unsuitable for the guests who stay there, i would personally prefer a more upbeat hotel which offered more then just food and alcohol.

hope this helps

Andy

first time all inclusive we didnt pay much for the holiday as it was a late deal, well worth the money we paid for the week.
hotel was clean, room was large and cleaned everyday. all the staff were really friendly and helpful. the bar area is lovely and bar prices (had to pay after 11pm) arent that expensive compared to rest of resort.
the food is basic and there wasnt loads of choice but it all tasted good plenty of salad and chips, there are loads of nice places to eat in the resort anyway. No entertainment but again plenty to do round the resort. the only problem was the bar across the road was very loud but the music did stop at about 1 am which was fine for us but may be a problem if you have children.

We booked a last minute deal and when we got home read reviews about the Grand Saral and how it did'nt compare to the two other hotels within this complex across the road. Once there we could'nt have been more happy, we wanted a relaxing time and that's what we got. The staff all round we very helpful and our room was cleaned and hoovered every day. The pool area is on the second floor,(no bar that is downstairs, all of a 30 sec walk ) and although a little dated was clean and tidy, but it is 6ft deep all over. The hotel is in a great location, but saying that the town is not big at all. If you want entertainment you will have to go over the road, if you want quite, stay by the bar in the hotel and nightlife is just a bar away. This hotel is alot smaller than the others and the staff have more time for personnal help, the air conditioning is a must and worked fine ( no extra cost ) fridge in room and shower area was spot on. rooms are a little dated and unlike some we did'nt pay for our room key, just told if we lost it then it would cost 30 lira. so hand it in when you go out. Safety box did cost 15 quid,no hassle for piece of mind. Food, well your on holiday in Turkey, if you want all English then go to Benidorm, easy.

We would just like to say we stayed in this hotel for two weeks before it became an all inclusive hotel it was great!

Would also like to say that murat an hasan are the most amazing people in the world! Missing you lots haha!

It is now an all inclusive hotel which is a shame this means we have no more hasan at the pool during the day.

Was a brilliant holiday and would go back an stay there again!

I stayed in this hotel last June and am going back next week!!!!! On arrival at the hotel I was horrified!! It looked dark, dingy and dirty!!!!

I really just wanted to turn around and come home again ...... however after being shown to our rooms and overcoming the shock realised that the room was spotless!!!

The only complain that I would have is the decor!!! It was floral and old fashioned and you could see the room was well used!!! Worn fabric on chairs etc. Overall I would not complain about the room though - the air conditioning was fab!!! Could not have survived without it!!!

We stayed in Block B however most nights ate in the metrapol (block A) as the food looked more appetising and they were always bringing fresh bits out. The hotel is right in the resort center - which was excellent for us as we enjoyed the night life.

The hotel is situated next to a really friendly resturant/bar which we spent most of our holiday in!!!! The hotel staff were always polite, very helpful and would do anything you asked!! On our first day we arrived at the pool side around 1pm and there were no sunloungers....... the pool attendant told us to sit in the shade and returned 5 mins later after walking around and finding 3 sunbeds for us.

He also saw my friend looking for an umbrella and 2 minutes later found us one. We gave him a tip of 5 Lira - for the rest of the holiday we did not go to the bar - they would bring us drinks and anything we wanted!!!!

I would advise people to tip the waiters as they appreciate this and work very hard to please you!!! I am going back to the same hotel and am really excited!!!

Will post a comment in 2 weeks to let you know how it went!!!

We stayed at this Hotel All Inclusive for one week, we enjoyed our stay very much. All the staff were very helpful all week, they were very happy and entertaining.

The Abacus Metropol which was part of the complex was over the road, we where told that we could use the facilities in both hotels, we spent approximately 1 hour in the Metropol and both were not impressed by both the staff and residents so we chose to spend our evenings and nights at the pool bar in the Idas which were, both enjoyable and entertaining.

The hotel facillities and Room where both very clean, Room was cleaned thoroughly every day beds were made up with clean sheets every day. The pool was very clean as was the area around it, this also was swept daily.

The food was fine with many varieties daily and through the week with the option to ask for an alternative if there was nothing to suite your taste on the day.

Fresh Pita bread was baled on sight every day before the lunch and evening meal times by the same chef who we got to know very well owing to his pleasant attitude.

The restaurant area both inside and out where cleaned and kept tidy all the time during mealtimes by a number of very busy staff. Neither of us were ill once and this is a first so that counts for something I think.

The location of this hotel was fine within walking distance of the beach, bars, shops, banking facillities and taxi rank. there is a regular bus service that will get you anywhere in the resort area for a mere 1.75 lira.

The Idas had no entertainment as such, you had to cross the road to the Metropol if you wanted hotel entertainment, but to be quite honest The Idas did not need any entertainment as the pleasant and entertaining staff provided enough especially the bar staff (Great Entertainment).

Would We visit this hotel again? This is our first time in Turkey and Yes indeed we would we had a great week and hope to go back soon.

The hotel is tired and needs a major refurbishment.

The food, though plentiful is boring - chicken, salad, pasta with chips does need some variation.

The rooms are basic - definately not 4*. The cleanliness leaves much to be addressed.

The staff are only friendly to young ladies, though they did always speak, they were doing their job and no more.

We had a resident cat on our balcony - 5 floors up. The cats over ran the outside dining area.

We had a major storm during the night and the room next door got flooded to a depth of at least 15 inches of water. This was because an end cap had not been fitted on the guttering and the room got all the water from the roof. Photos available. The staff were hopeless and did not want to know. The Brits moved the old couple into a dry room and the flooded room was ready for occupation by 9.a.m. the next morning! The stench was something to be missed. We had an electrician to repair our electrics damaged by the flood, at midnight the following night.

I will never go back to Turkey.

Idas hotel hotel ok just it is never a four star hotel any where else it would only be a 2 star plus.

Food very very poor if you like chicken and chips every day well you should be ok because thats all you get and 99 per cent of the time it was cold the only thing that was hot was the plates.

Breakfast cornflakes the same bowl of sugar was used every day after two days it was hard, only small pieces of bread for toast or of cause salad, the tea and coffee all so warm or cold.

Staff: they took all the time to smile or even speak to you.

Rooms: very basic, safe did not work.

Would I return no I would never go back to this hotel again.

A shame really because Icmeler is a very nice place, noise at times but nice.

So if you are thinking about going take some extra money you will need it for your meals out every day.

We stayed in the idas hotel in Icmeler. As said on other reviews this hotel should be rated as two star.

The food was cold and the same thing every day. Bacon only served once a week. Ripped off by reception staff for paying for your all inclusive band.

Warning to parents with teenage daughters, the waiters are too over friendly.

Rooms dirty especially the carpets. Went with goldtrail, never again. Reps non existant. Best to take extra money with you to pay for meals to eat out.

Icmeler itself very nice place, but would not book with the idas or metropol hotel ever again.

This was our third visit to Icmeler and unfortunately may be our last. This hotel and its sister hotel The Metropol definitely did not live up to its 4 Star category.

The hotel staff were unfriendly which we found very unusual as in the past we have always found Turkish people very helpful and willing to please.

The rooms were basic but clean. We were amazed that on arrival we had to pay 50 lira for wrist bands. There was no entertainment in the Idas, and although the Metropol did provide a small amount in the evening it was very repetitive.

The food was very poor, cold and repetitive. A lot of the guests, including myself, were ill with upset stomachs for most of our holiday. A majority of guests resorted to eating out to avoid being ill. Goldtrail's rep was very unhelpful.
