Just returned from Turkey. It was a first visit for us having heard form friends how great it is.
The journey form the airport was far too long and the coach drivers like to speed. For an all in hotel it just wasn't worth the money as the food was dreadful, veal on the menu everyday. could'nt fault the cleanliness of the hotel, the maids did a brill job every day.
Location is ok, the beach is a few steps away and private but not very big or attractive.the entertainment was so bad it was funny, especially if you've had a few to drink.

We visited the Marti la Perla in August 2004 and had such a great time we went back in August 1905 disaster everything had changed.
The entertainment consisted of guests being made a fool of on the stage to the embarrasment of fellow guests, and a bit lurid not suitable for children to watch.
Music around the pool was loud rap also unsuitable for children.. Food ok rooms clean.

Just got back from Marti La Perla Hotel in Icmeler.
The hotel is located in a fabulous position, right on the beach front. The hotel is very clean. In my opinion the only thing that lets this hotel down is the food. Everyday the hotel serves up the same food, most of it was cold. After about 5 days I complained to my rep, she asked me to fill in a report, and in fairness the food did appear to be a little better after that.
During the first week the chefs were barbequing chicken breasts at lunchtime, near the poolside bar, however, when I asked for some I was told I could not have the chicken, no explanation was given why. They barbecued chicken breasts once during the following week and I was allowed to have them this time, I can only assume that someone had complained previously.
The worst meal in the restaurant was the lunch time meal, most of the time I ate outside near the poolside bar, the food there consisted mostly of pizzas(most of the time they ran out very quickly and you had to wait for the next one to be cooked) chips, burgers and salad. This would be ok for a lot of people, however you tend to get a bit fed up with eating "junk food".
The breakfasts consist of the usual meats and cheeses for the Europeans, bacon (which was served twice in my 2 weeks stay)the restaurant opens at 7am and they still hadn't started frying the bacon at 8.10am. As you can imagine there didn't appear to be any organisation. On the 2 occasions when there was bacon, you had to queue up for that, then stand in a separate queue for the eggs (they were cooked in a small frying pan, which held 3 eggs at a time) with everyone queuing, this turned out to be a lengthy process, where most of the time your bacon was cold before you got your eggs.
The hotel caters mostly for Russians and Eastern Europeans, it needs to cater more for the English in my opinion.
Don't be fooled into playing the bingo, as they don't tell you at the time, but all of the games are played for prizes and not for money, the prizes are a bit of a con as they are all for percentages off the shops in the hotel i.e. 20% of the hairdressers or 20% off the leather goods shop in the hotel, there is even a prize for 20% off a scuba diving lesson (not very good if you don't scuba dive!!).
Putting all of this aside though, I did have a very enjoyable stay at this hotel (and met loads of nice people)
I would possibly consider going back in a couple of years time, if only because of the beach front location of the hotel, and because the hotel is reasonable you can always eat out a few times whilst you are there.

Hotel on the whole is excellent although for people who have difficulty walking and climbing stairs it can be somewhat troublesome. This is because the hotel has no main road access and therefore coaches used to transfer to and from Dalaman Airport (2 hours) and for trips have to stop some 600 yards away. This means lugging heavy cases over a steep bridge and along a cobbled road.
The hotel is All Inclusive and for the first few days the meals are ok - therafter they become very monotonous as the same food is offered time and time again. Having said that, the food cannot be faulted for quality and drinks, although local, are generally excellent. Breads are particularly good and very tasty - salads stuff are plentiful and are changed reguarly - and because the hotel was quite full when we visited, the trays tended to empty quickly and therefore replaced with fresh produce - this only applies up to around 1 hour after the restaurant opens - therefter the cold dishes are on display for much longer. Personally, I always elect to eat cooked food when in a hot country, rather than chance catching a tummy bug from cold foodstuff.
With regard to our room - we opted and paid for a sea view with Cosmos and on arrival were shown to a 5th floor room (the lift only goes up to the 4th floor!) and the view could not be described as a "Sea View". After complaining our room was changed to room 522 - on the other side of the floor. What a difference - our balcony overlooked the bay and at night we had a spectacular moonlit view - quite stupendous. I recommend that you ask for a room, preferably on the 4th floor, to stop having to climb stairs to the 5th, on the same side and location as room 522. The room was kept very clean by the daily maid, although the bed linnen arrangement meant that each night we had to make up our own bed!
Beware the waiters in the restuarant who are merely clearers up, as they never actually wait at the table - guests get all their food and drinks themselves - as they still expect to be tipped at the end of the holiday for doing nothing for the visiters. They will be very evident and friendly during your final breakfast at the hotel - just shake their hand and say goodbye !!!
Entertainment is very sparse - both during the day and at night - I suggest you walk confidently past the security guard into the the Marti Village Hotel next door and watch their stage shows instead.
The Private beach is excellent and sunbeds are plentiful and Free - bathing is safe, but can shelve a little too quickly for small children - however, the hotel has a special paddling pool for tots.
All-in-all an excellent holiday and I totally recommend Icmeler as a resort - unless you want noise, cheap food, many bars, constant pestering by the locals and loutish behavour up to 4am and little sleep - in which case choose Marmaris instead.

The hotel was very clean, and the staff where friendly, the location was fantastic right in the middle of everything, and right on the beach.
The entertainment staff during the day were great but the entertainment on a night was'nt very good at all.
The food even though there was a lot of choice you did'nt really know what you were eating so most nights we ate out.

This was a holiday to remember and I would recomend it to anyone who was visiting Turkey,From the time we got to the hotel until we left we were well looked after by the staf at the hotel.
We were worried by the reports we had seen about the food, But these were unfounded as all our party ate at the hotel for 2 weeks, In fact we only ate out once and that was a breakfast. The children all enjoyed the food which is not normal for our kids. The lunchtime food was a choice of the resturant or you could eat at the snake bar from 12pm until 4pm with burgers pizza, Chicken, Salade and Meat products,You could also get fruit at the snack bar. Evening meals were a choice of several types of food and we could always find something that met our needs.
Entertainment was a bit of a let down as it spaced out too much you had a childrens disco for 15 mins at 8:30 then a show at 9:30 but this somtimes did not come on to 10pm, Which ment you sat around for an hour or went for a walk, What I would say was the shows were good but not what you would get a hotel that was full of Brits as this was a mixed hotel fulll of all nations which I enjoyed.
Rooms were vere clean and large with good bathroom and very clean.

The Marti la Perla is a great fun hotel. All areas are kept immaculately clean, and the staff work like troopers to ensure this.
The hotel has a prime location right on its own beach with a picture postcard view out to sea.
The entertainment team work very hard to involve all holiday makers in the activities and are great fun to be around. They also take time to get to know their guests by joining them on their sunbed for a chat. All hotel staff are very friendly and caring.
The variety and temperature of the food does leave a little to be desired although I, a fussy eater was still able to get by. There is always a good selection of breads, cheeses salads and fruit if all else fails! Also, the sister hotel the Marti offers a true 5 star buffet restaurant and you can upgrade your evening meal to there for just a few euros!
The evening entertainment has improved since our last visits. The hotel now uses the sister hotels entertainment team (which is much larger) for some of its shows, and I must admit they are more professional.
All in all a great hotel that I hope to visit time and time again!

The hotel marti la perla is an all inclusive hotel and there is lots of variety to choose from for your breakfast and evening meals, although the food is generally repeated throughout the stay. Our only real complaint was that free ice cream was only served once a week.
The hotel itself was very clean and the rooms were comfortable. Most of the entertainment team were lovely and lots of fun. The pool has two waterslides which kept everyone entertained at the pool side. The evening entertainment was not that good, but there's plenty of other things to do in Icmeler.
We had a fantastic time - this was our second time in Icmeler (we stayed at the Marti Resort 4 years ago) and we still love the place. The Turkish people are lovely and prices are still reasonable.

Marti La Perla was a good hotel however having paid for an all-inclusive holiday, we were forced to eat out a lot because of the poor standard of food. The choice was very limited, with the same options over and over again and even when you got something you liked, it was probably only lukewarm. We couldn't get ice-cream for our daughter either. The choice of spirits was also limited at the bar - I believe there were only 4 different ones (vodka, brandy, whisky and something else).
The hotel also has an 'internet cafe'. This consisted of one p.c., which was as slow as treacle but cheap.
There are 2 water slides, which were quite good and towels were provided at the pool. The hotel has it's own part of the beach for guests. Bottled water was also available as and when required. The rooms have fridges but weren't very good.
