The apartments
Adequate for the price I would say as you do mainly only sleep in there and cool off etc.
Take a mug with you as the cups are tiny. Electric kettle is provided and hairdryers.
We were put in the last block on the 3rd floor, 40 steps to climb i know everyone of them personally. My mum who has spinal injuries was put in the 4th floor attic rooms which are more cramped, and she couldn't manage the stairs, so we rang the manager to complain as we had asked for a low floor for her when booking. The receptionist didn't understand us, so the manager rang us back and found a ground floor room, so yes they helped there. But other families had similar relatives with mobility problems and they were all allocated rooms on the higher floors, it appeared that they were all sorted out after some time.
The manager was quite surly I would say, he didn't appear to talk to the holiday makers and it did appear to be a family run place as some family members had a chalet next to our block.
Pool is deep but doesn't get busy, they were dragging some sunbeds out from somewhere the barmen were cleaning and hosing them down but I think they only found 6 extra. You get shade from the apartments in the morning and from around 3pm over the pool. There was nearly always a nice breeze which helped the temperatures.
The restaurant was ok, we didn't have dinner there, I don't know why it wasn't busier at night, although there is a lot of competition for business nearby.
Bar
the men were friendly, different levels of english spoken, but as charming as ever. Drinks weren't that badly priced I thought.
The bar men definitely livened it up, pushing various people in the pool including John's son daily. I think they got told off for pushing him in at nighttime as a sign suddenly appeared saying no one in the pool after 8.30pm.
The room was cleaned every day but our cleaner came round at 9am, too early even for me. She didn't understand a word of what we said. We did ask for loo roll when needed, (or showed her it anyway and she gave us them).
Our towels and sheets were only changed once in the 2 weeks. My mum gave her cleaner the towels as they were dirty and never got a clean one back until into the 2nd week, So maybe it was a pot luck thing.
We managed without air conditioning, I wouldn't pay for it. A hint to future visitors, if you open the front and back balcony doors, block them open with suitcases or whatever you get a nice cross breeze which helps.
The ground floor rooms although very convenient and nice to sit at and watch your kids in the pool are not as convenient as night.
You do get noise echoing around from the bar at night so can disturb some people / kids as sometimes it did carry on into the very early hours and there was a fight one night over the pool table between some Turks not the Brits.
Sleeping in the back room is ok, we just got noise from the air con units at the Mirage.
Air conditioning
Has become I think quite an issue, loads of people querying charges etc.
When I booked it was supposed to be included. I checked couple of days before leaving and it said on the website that it was

On arrival to the melita we were graciously welcomed by the friendly receptionist and staff, who quickly took us to our room - which was ground floor with a pool view,as requested. The complex looked impressive, which lived up to our expectations. The room was spotless, and well equipped for a family of four, and the children were delighted.
The staff were extremely friendly, and did not pester my daughter - which unfortunately is the case on the most part in turkish resorts. We made some really good friends- so much so that the kids were crying when we had to leave for home. It is also worth pointing out that the entire bar staff, reception staff and manager were out to say goodbye as we left.
The apartments are in a great spot in icmeler, close to the beach and also the bars and restaurants. On our last night, there was a turkish themed night which was a great success and everyone enjoyed it thoroughly, the only disappointment was the fact that we had to leave!! In all honesty the only one complaint my family and i have to make about our holiday was the fact that my daughter was receiving notes from a member of staff from the neighbouring Portofino hotel- however, the bar staff at the melita quickly intervined and put a stop to it as they realised this was upsetting my daughter.
Our friends who were not staying at the melita, came to the melita bar and pool everyday with us - showing exactly how favourable the complex is.
My family and I would go back to stay at the Melita at any opportunity - even my daughter and a group of her friends feel comfortable holidaying at these appartments by themselves on their first holiday abroad together! However, it is a disappointment to learn that no british holiday-makers will be staying at the melita as of next year.

Arrived at the hotel in the middle ofthe night, but friendly welcome. Rooms where small considering there where 4 adults sharing, that said it was only ever intended as a base.
Ideal location, so near the beach, NOT ideal being so near other hotels. CONSTANT competition for loadest music awards at unsociable times, hotel staff would do anything for you as long as you spent money in the bar, if you didnt, they didnt want to know.
Also far too interested in attracting (and indeed failing!) to attract members of the opp sex.
Music played was extreemly unsociable, sexually explicit words in songs when there are children round the pool i find unacceptable.
Not good value for money, had the same arguement about air conditioning, but managed to sort that out without any external assistance.
Would NEVER stay at this hotel ever again, but by the sounds of it it will never be an option.
My review may sound like im a 60 year old, and extreemly boring, im not either, the 4 of us where in our 20's and know how to enjoy ourselves - probably why we spent so much time away from this hotel!

Melita one bedroom apartments,5mins from the town centre and two mins to the beach are quite spacious, with plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space.
Catering for 4 people the rooms have a double electric cooking ring, fridge and electric kettle,we took our own toaster, lovely soft bath and hand towels are provided and changed every day.
Air con which is included in the price of the apartment
is controlled by a remote control which can be obtained from the small reception area at the entrance to the apartments.
A limited number of rooms have a sea view, while the rest overlook the pool areas of both the Melita and Potofino Hotel.
Rooms have 2 balconies, one to the front overlooking said pools, where the sun hits them at 7-15am in the morning and stays on them till about 11am,balconies at the back get the sun from 11am to about 7pm although these balconies do overlook the side of the Mirage Hotel.
The pool which is kidney shaped is of a decent size, but there is no shallow section so small children who cant swim need to be supervised and wear armbands etc, although there is a small round paddling pool for the children to use.
There are sunbeds and parasols around the substantial sunbathing areas,we managed to get a sunbed at any time of the day.
There is a large pool bar with comfortable seating and shaded areas if required, large effes 2500000tl=93 pence a pint.
A restaurent at the front of the apartments serve excellant food at reasonable prices, well worth a try.
Staff are typical of the Turkish people, friendly, obliging nothing to much trouble.
There is a supermarket just up from the Melita, approx 100mts were all your self catering needs can be purchased,no need to buy the toilet rolls as the apartments supply these.
Two bars just down from the Melita are the Fess Bar and Dolpin Bar both have fantastic musicians and singers and well worth a visit, music starts at 9pm.
The dolmus will stop outside the apartments to take you to the water park and Marmaris cost 1250000ml=46
pence per person.
