What a great hotel!
We chose Turkey for the second year running, last year we were invited by friends to join them for two weeks in Dalyan and thought that was a good resort, but, fancying a different destination, picked out Kalkan, which was even better.
The Lizo felt like home almost immediatly, Ali and Sarah could not do enough for us. Air-con is a must and, although that was an extra, it was less than half what we paid last year. The food was wonderful from breakfast on the roof terrace through to their 'theme' nights. We could have eaten there every night were it not for the 180 or so restaurants down in the town.
Location-wise the Lizo is about ten minutes from the town centre, toward the top of a small hill, a taxi was only 5 lira and we only used one once, on a particularly hot day when it was the lack of shade on the way up, rather than the distance which swung our decision.
We would have no hesitation in recommending the Lizo. Having seen how many have been year after year, we understand why.

Thank you, Mehmet, Gulsen, Ali, Sarah and Medine for a lovely holiday
This hotel is excellent.
Lovely location and views, some of the rooms overlook the pool but it is a pleasant area some that is no problem. Superb views from the bar/restaurant roof terrace.
The hotel is small ,3 blocks (17 rooms) around a pleasant pool area and very friendly, every one is made to feel welcome from the moment you get off the coach to the moment you leave. Ali et all are happy to to do anything to make your holiday special
Lizo is furnished very simply and the rooms are basic but roomy. The whole hotel is kept very clean by the marvellous Medine, she even folds your clothes!
The food there is excellent,( thank you Gulsen) it is very hard some days to drag yourself away to eat else where.
We would definitely visit again (in the the process of organising next years visit already)

This is the second time we have visited the Lizo, the first being last year.
We have yet again had a fantastic time, the Hotel is small and extremely friendly and situated out of town looking down over the most fantastic views of Kalkan. The Hotel is run by Ali and Sarah and it is more like being part of a Family than another guest.
The Food was fantastic, being served on thier roof top terrace and although they do food every night, the BBQ, Prawn and Fish nights are fantastic with ten starters followed by the main course, great value for money and all home cooked meals.
Our room was cleaned every day, the pool area was quiet and clean and there was nothing that Ali or Sarah wouldn't do for you to make you holiday a happy one.
Not recommended for young Children. Will be going back next year.

Well...what can I say? Lizo pension absolutely made my holiday! Everything from the food to the rooms was perfect! A beautiful view and yet it was all soo cheap.
The hotel staff were superb- ali and sarah as well as mehmet and gushen had us laughing all evening. They were all extremely easy going and attended to our every need.
The hotel pool was very pleasant and quiet, enough to accomodate most ages! Our rooms were thoroughly cleaned everyday and I simply cannot understand the one bad report left on this page. If you wanted you're own personal slaves for staff, you should have payed for it is all I can say.
Thankyou Lizo for the holiday of a lifetime particularly you Sarah and Ali, you really made our holiday!

Despite what the brochure says, Mehmet and Gulsen have retired. They are still there, but taking a back seat. Lizo is now run by their son Ali ... and that's the problem.
You might have a good time ... there again you might have a bad time. Who knows? It just depends on if your face fits!
We arrived after a night flight at 9.30am. Seven got off the coach. Two, who had stayed before, had their suitcases carried to their room. The rest of us had to struggle up and down stairs with our own.
The hotel is positioned on a very steep hill, 10 minutes to walk down to the town, 20 minutes to walk back. Only good thing about this is you will develop some leg muscles like never before.
The rooms are small and very basic. Not enough wardrobes/drawers to keep our clothes in. Our room overlooked the back of the hotel and the pool, no sea view. Air conditioning charged at

2005 was our 2nd visit to the Lizo in Kalkan and hopefully we will return next year.
After the four hour plus flight and 2 hour plus coach trip (the only downside of the holiday), it was really lovely to be met so hospitably by Ali, Sarah, Mehmet and Gulsen
