The Palace is what it name states 'A Palace' The hotel is huge, magnificent, spotless. Every single member of staff was very pleasant polite and could not do enough for you. The service was second to none. My wife and I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and the Emirates Palace is certainly well within the top 5 if not the number 1. After checking in we was taken to our suite where our butler showed us the rooms features. Free soft drinks and water within the extensive mini bar. The room was cleaned every day and turned down at night when fresh petals were placed on the floor at the side of the bed and within the bathroom. Fresh fruit, chocolates, brand new soap's, shower gel and shampoo every day.
However there is a downside, 1 the cost of drinks and food which you dont expect to be cheap were extortionate,

Had seen this hotel on a TV show in the UK and thought how I'd love to stay there. Went with husband on a business trip and called in there for a look around.
The rooms were about half the cost of what they usually are due to the time of year so we ended up booking 2 nights there. On check-in, I was presented with a small bouquet of roses, Arabian coffee and dates and then we were escorted to our room by one of the PR girls!
Beautiful room with free soft drinks/water from mini bar, 61 inch plasma screen in room, lovely bathroom - couldn't ask for more!! You also have a butler on hand who brought some drinks on a tray for us upon arrival and he explained several features of the room to us.
Breakfast was included and was buffet style - everything you could need apart from pork bacon (beef bacon popular here in the Middle East!).
Hotel was very very clean - the gold decor everywhere just leaves you awestruck - I had never seen such a place before! Hotel guests can go on a free tour of the place as it's so vast which takes 40-45 mins (non-guests pay

This hotel looks like the "Taj Mahal" as you approach it's proportions are unbelievable. The hotel was only soft opened when I was their but the service was good although slow at times.
The location is great for long walks along the corniche which gives a great sense of the local life as families meet up in the evening and picnic ( weather permitting). There are plenty of places to eat with a good selection if you don't want to venture out but as expected it can be expensive. The private beach is great but can be quiet noisy from the traffic as can some of the rooms although this did not affect us. Due to the size of the hotel everything is a good walk away but as the decoration is so over the top it's not boring.
You have to re-adjust your eyes on leaving the hotel as there's so much gold inside!
