We stayed 6 nights in the fabulous hotel in February 2009. We arrived early hours of the morning and got a taxi from the airport which took about 10 minutes to the hotel. There were about 4 staff members outside the hotel to open your car doors, greet you and take your luggage. We were well impressed and even moreso when we walked into the large open reception area.
A swift check in and our request for a high floor room had been granted. We really got the wow factor with the room. It was certainly the nicest comfiest room we have ever stayed in. Very contemporary colours, very spacious with large flat screen TV, Ipod docking station, well stocked mini bar, tea/coffee, iron and ironing board, and everything else you could need. You were even provided with complementary water every day. The bathroom was something else with two showers over the bath, one being a rainwater shower. The bathroom had a large glass window which looked into the room. OK for a couple but if you were staying with a friend you would use the blind! The bathroom even had speakers linked to the TV or radio and the TV swivelled so you could lie in the bath, watching the TV. Bliss.
The Hotel is situated at Festival City and there is a covered walk way which takes you into the new shopping centre, where there are plenty of places to eat drink and shop! You can also use all the facilites of the sister hotel, The Intercontinental next door. The pool area of the Crowne Plaza was beautiful, well thought out and plenty of sun beds and luxurious leather sofas.
We only ate once in the Hotel in the Belgian Bar and the food was lovely although with a poor exchange rate the beer was working out a
