We stayed here as a family for the new year period and it was nothing short of amazing. It is quite a way around on Palm Jumeirah but as far as resorts go in terms of safety, facilities and relaxation you cannot get much better. The rooms are fantastic and have a brilliant huge bath in the centre of the room (see picture). I am unsure if this is common place in every room but we upgraded to a premium suite. We also had a Palm view room which cost a little more but is better than the sea view room.
The restaurants on site are all very good, the best one was the steak restaurant and the local Lebanese outfit. The seafood restaurant was ok but not as good as the others if I was totally honest. The SPA on site is apparently one of the best in Dubai and people from all over come to take part - we never visited but spent most of the time just flitting between pools. The prices were a little high for food and drink around the pool but I believe that is just Dubai as opposed to the hotel.
It is a 20 Dirham ride into Jumeirah Beach and also to the new shops that have been built around the Jumeirah beach residence. Whatever you do, make sure you visit the Cheesecake Factory - the portions are huge and it is amazing food.

The hotel is quite away around on the outside of the palm so it is a bit of a ride to get there from the main land, however, it is a huge resort and if you really wanted there is no need to leave the hotel at all.
The hotel is immense, there are several pools depending on what you want to do. This was the first time we took away our 8 month old boy and it was a dream. Plenty to do around the pools and there are child friendly pools with plenty of lifeguards around at all times.
The hotel was of a very high standard, the restaurants were great (make sue you visit the porterhouse), breakfast was great, everything that you need from a great hotel.
The room we had we upgraded to and it was huge, with a round freestanding bath in the middle. We were given a cot as well so for us it was no issue having a small child. The room was always tidied well and the towels and sheets replaced everyday. They even came every night to do evening service. Amazing.
The only downside was the price.

Hotel tip: Pay the extra and get the one bedroom apartment with a Palm view, as opposed to a sea view room.
