We stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim for 10 nights in August 2009. This hotel is a great base for Disneyland as it is only a few minutes drive away. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus service to/from the Disney parks which leaves every half hour. The journey is walking distance but involves crossing a couple of very busy roads, so not ideal if you have children - use the shuttle bus - its FREE!
Our room was huge and was equipped with aircon, 2 queen size beds, fridge, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, tv, bath and shower. The fridge was re-stocked with water free of charge. There are no safety deposit boxes in the rooms but guests have free use of the safety boxes kept behind the reception desk. The only downside to our room was that it overlooked the motorway but we were in the room so little that it didnt bother us. Our room was cleaned and fresh towels left daily. There are ice machines located on each floor.
There is a swimming pool located in a courtyard which you can access using your room key and pool towels are provided to guests. The pool area is nice and was never too busy, although shade was limited. There is also a coin operated laundry available which comes in handy and located by the pool. Guests have free use of internet which is great. There is also a gym but we never used it.
We only ate dinner in the Courtyard Bistro once (on our first night) and the food was very good quality and pretty good value. We only ate breakfast once as we're not really cooked breakfast people - this was also good although I would say choice was a little limited compared to other US breakfast buffets we have experienced. There is also a shop/deli onsite and we used this often to get extra bottles of water/soft drinks, danish pastries/yoghurts for breakfast and other bits and pieces. The deli also sold fresh sandwiches (made to order), salads, hot dogs. All well priced.
We didn't use the Concierge desk to buy our park tickets as we had bought these prior to travel but the desk always seemed to be busy selling tickets to guests. The hotel car park is the perfect location to watch the Disney firework display each evening - if you want to avoid the masses in the park itself. The staff on the reception desk were always very helpful and courteous and we never experienced any problems.
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wishing to stay in Anaheim. It is conveniently located for the Disney parks, Knotts Berry Farm and local restaurants and the nearby Garden Walk shopping mall.
