We booked this hotel for 5 days because of it's sponsored ad through Expedia as well as the fact it advertised that we could pay when we arrived, just needed a credit card to reserve it. (In fact Expedia took immediate payment, but thats only the start of it)
We then looked at some reviews, then did some research. The Sweden House Hotel is a homeless shelter and with a bit of looking that can be confirmed. Indeed Expedia have just confirmed to me that this hotel and another hotel listed on a homeless resource site are the same one. Please be aware that this may be misinformation on the other website.
Passing it by, the hotel is a fairly innocuous looking building, you'll be able to spot it by all the homeless people stood outside, the guy with the dirty syringe sticking in the side of his head was particularly friendly.
We would have popped in there to confirm we cancelled but there is no front desk as advertised just a number to ring on the door. Id you arrive at night please be aware that the person who answers your call is just a friend/tenant looking after the building but he will give you your key.
Restaurant is a Chinese take-away attached to the building.
I have to recommend you go to another hotel of which there are plenty in the area
Please also be aware that Expedia isnt covered by ABTA
