This hotel is rated as one of the most expensive and luxurious in Florida. I have to say it was very poor. The rooms were small - there were't even any tea / coffee making facilities in the room - yet you would find these in any, much cheaper hotel. Everything was extortionate - $20 a day for car parking and "shoe shine" - I kid you not, and it is a fee you 'have to pay'. Meals ranged from $10 for a burger to $35 for fish. The shops in the hotel charged double what any other shop would charge. The decoration away from the main floor was like a cheap carribean style shirt, and the bottom floor had a horrible smell of dampness. As for sleeping, well if you happen to sleep on the 3rd or 4th floor, you'll be awake early each day. The laundry noise literally shakes the hotel from 6 am onwards. It reminded me of sleeping near a train track.
The location is good for the beach, but there is nothing else close by. Shopping is rubbish, restaurants are limited. We travelled up to Tampa a number of times for food and something to do. If you have a young family, this is not the place to visit.
We stayed for 7 nights. We won't be returning.
