We stayed at the All Star Sports resort from 12th until 27th September 2007 and had a fantastic time. We had a perfect room location (Room number 155 in Touch Down section) - closest room (about 10 metres) to the main building on the ground floor overlooking the Football Pitch. We didn't pay for preferred room. We had no trouble with noise etc - occasionally heard toilets being flushed but nothing loud enough to wake you. Parking was great behind our building.
While we were there the main Surfs Up pool was closed for renovation (Didn't affect us though as we were only 5 minutes away from Blizzard Beach anyway!) but they had other pools open as usual and we were told we could use the Movies and Music pools if we wanted to. Most of the rooms were being renovated - even the rooms directly next to us on the ground floor were getting new beds/mattresses etc while we were staying. Didn't see any workmen and didn't hear any noise coming from this though. I was told the rooms were needing renovated as Sports was the first value resort to be built and so was time for some renovations. Perfect time to go now as the rooms will be beautiful when finished (They were lovely to start with so will be great afterwards!)
Housekeeping was great, very clean - we got a brand new bar of soap everyday, even though we weren't using much of the one the day before! No Hairdryer in room though, but didn't need one as was too hot outside anyway. The maid occassionally left us our towels on the bed shaped like a giant Mickey - that was fun to return to and added to the "Magic".
We've stayed in Pop Century previously and I would say both are the same when it comes to quality, especially now that the All Star Sports rooms are being renovated. Obviously this hotel is a must have if you or someone in your party are interested in Sports of any kind!
The buses are great - we only used them occasionally to go to Downtown Disney at night (We drove everywhere else) - Sports is the best of the three All Star Resorts because you are the first onto the buses (Empty seats!) and then your are also the first drop off point on the way home - perfect! No stressful standing on buses for long!
Overall I loved this hotel (And I'm not even a sports fan!) and I'd definitely go back! Ive put "None" for entertainment because its not the type of hotel to put on entertainment etc. There was a tv with lots of channels in the room though.

The room was the same size as a previous hotel down International Drive. Not too big but when you are only using it to sleep in. Its fine. It was clean. Fresh towels every day.
My daughters cuddly toys were neatly arranged on her bed.
The air con worked soundly. Staff very polite and friendly calling my daughter Princess all the time.A nice touch.
Pool was well organised as for entertainment there is arcade games.
To be honest when you get back from the parks theres not much time to do much else but to retire to bed and get recharged for the following day.
The food was cooked fresh(meats)in front of you and the Disney cups are really good value.

Me and my girlfriend went here last September and all I can say it was amazing. On arrival we were given a smoking room to our dissapointment, with this we said we did not want a smoking room and were complementary upgraded to a premier location in the hotel.
The staff were very very helpful and friendly and did anything they could to help.
The hotel was very clean only saw one bit of rubbish the whole 2 weeks so was very pleased with this.
Food was very good for the duration how ever its all fast food so high in salt and if your from the UK and are not used to high HIGH salted food it may take a toll on you, however it was fresh and cheap, deffo go for the disney cups, great value
Location was amazing!! 10 mins on a bus max to get any where. Bus's were every 10 mins. A great plus by staying on the all star resort if you miss your bus jump on either the movies or music and take a two minute walk to your hotel. simple!
Overall we had a great time and this hotel was perfect for what we wanted Deffinate for any family who want a decent base for their holiday
