This place never sleeps. Lots of museums, bars, restaurants, parks and other attractions. If you are a beer fan there has been a revolution in the US with thousands of microbreweries producing some amazing beers.
There is the full selection of American sports available depending on season. Ice Hockey (The Blackhawks) is our thing but they have an American football team (The Bears), two baseball teams (Cubs and White Sox), basketball (The Bulls) and even a soccer team (The Fire).
There are river and lake cruises to take. The public transport is very good and very cheap. If you go in the Summer there is even miles of beaches!
