My husband and I stayed at the South Point in August 08 for one week. We knew when booking that the South Point was a 15 minute drive south of the Strip and thought we would be fine taking the shuttle provided from the hotel. Unfortunately, we hadn't bargained on the temperature being 113 degrees in the shade and found hiring an air-conditioned car was far more suitable for us! We were able to visit all the hotels, casinos and malls on the Strip and parking was free in the self-park garages available at all the Strip hotels.
The South Point was a great hotel and easy to navigate, despite its size. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well equiped. We did especially like the complimentary Bath & Body Works toiletries, which we are now trying to purchase in the UK! There were plenty of eateries in the hotel, the Deli was great value and the food really good. There are a host of amenities at this hotel - pool, cinema, bowling alleys but we didn't use any of these as we just wanted a base for exploring Vegas.
In all, we had a great time at the South Point and would definitely use it again when we return to Las Vegas.
