Stayed here with my mum for our biannual girly trip.
The hotel was lovley, the rooms spotless and spacious (twin room). The beds were so comfortable and the linen lovely....everything you need after pounding the New York streets (and avenues!).
The bathrooms again were very clean with the usual shampoo etc... the body butter was superb.
The hotel is literally a stones throw from Times Square but as has been said you can't hear a thing. The location makes it perfect and if you don't mind walking then do it! Macy's is about 10-15mins walk, Grand Central 15-20 and Bloomingdales probably 20.
Hotel staff very helpful and polite.
There is a snack/mini bar in the room but it is VERY expensive. There is also a restaurant attached to the hotel, we never used it but it was always busy with theatre goers.
The rooms don't have a kettle but do have iron/ironing board/ TV/hairdryer and safe.

We stayed in deluxe room, lovely loads of room for the two of us. Room was spotless, bed was so comfortable, also desk with chair, arm chair, free safe, 26 inch LCD TV.
Bathroom was very clean and spacious. No tea making we always take travel kettle invaluable, mini bar and snacks very expensive did'nt use.
Deli 2 min walk for drinks snacks etc. Times sq 3min walk, Rockefeller 15 min empire state 25 min walk.
Staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
All in all could not fault hotel in any way.
Will return soon hopefully :)

Me and my sister have just returned from the Hotel Mela (44th Street)on Tuesday morning after celebrating my 40th Birthday in New York, and what a way to spend it! The hotel is excellant, it's just off Times Square one minute from 7th Avenue.
The rooms are on the small side and very clean but as your only sleeping there is ok. The beds are so comfortable and despite being so close to the hustle and bustle it is relatively quiet. We never had a problem getting to sleep but this might be due to several bottles of Budweiser we had earlier in the night.
Fresh towels each morning, Safe in the Wardrobe, Drinks Cabinet, snack hamper (paid at end of stay), TV, Iron & Ironing Board.
There is a Rest Room you can use to freshen up before your return journery, on the 2nd floor in the gym, as you have to vacate your Room for 12 noon.

Rooms where spot less. Bathroom best we have ever seen.
Bed was soft linen always their if you wanted more they would ask you.
Staff very helpful. Location to times square 2min walk.
Plenty of eating out places as they dont have food in the hotel. Safe in room easy to use.
If you can get a bigger room go for it, a bit small for 2 big bags that was the only thing but we did not mind that.
Would go there again.

This hotel is a boutique style hotel, it's brand new, only opened at the beginning of 2007.
They haven't yet got a restaurant open yet as they are still working on that but the rest of the hotel is finished, the rooms are modern and very clean.
The rooms are small but only the same as all other NYC hotels (unless you can afford to stay in a suite!). The en-suite bathrooms are lovely, and pretty big in comparison to the size of the bedroom.
Next door to the hotel is a an Irish pub and there are also a few restaurants in the same road. It's only a couple of blocks (5 mins walk) from the Port Authority in 42nd street where the bus station is and subway. Location is excellent, you walk to the end of the road and you are in Times Square so it's convenient for everything!
We would definitely stay here again. We got a good deal using a promo code from the travelzoo website where they were offering
