There was a draft coming through the wooden single-glazed bedroom window that had a blind, not curtains, up in it. The bed sloped towards the wall and was lumpy and uncomfortable to sleep on. There was no TV in the room. The bedroom furniture was very old and worn and was broken in places. The window overlooked the next street along - nothing but rooftops. The toilet had damp on the walls and there is no central heating. The room had one small electric heater that did not heat the room. The room and the building had a musty smell.
There was a large hole in the wall in the dining area, around which we saw mouse traps. In my emails with the owner, he seems to feel that the building has "rustic charm", when in fact it is simply run down, not maintained and poorly furnished.
