Just returned from another stay at the Big Sleep (often use when attending concerts etc)
You pay for what you get and what we want is a central base, clean and comfortable room and that is what we had.
Rooms are large and airy, good views of Cardiff which are better the higher you get. Linen clean, room and bathroom spotless although in need of a coat of paint. Fittings in the room are minimal, not the sort of place to lounge around all day - but thats not we wanted. Heating individually controlled, water hot.
Had the breakfast to go as needed to leave by 7.30. Adequate - yogurt, apple, cereal bar, orange juice and a litre of fresh milk! There are tea and coffee facilities in the room. Hairdryers and irons kept at a central station on each floor.
Value for money-

This is a budget hotel right in the middle of the city of Cardiff--an old office block now 10 storeys high with 8-10 bedrooms on each floor and two grunty lifts that run up through the centre of the building.
The rooms are spacious and furniture minimal, and in need of a lick of paint but the over-riding feature is the huge windows that give magnificent views over the city and South Wales and even the Bristol Channel especialy from the ninth floor which we were on.
Bathrooms are clean and adequate and breakfast is a continental served in a room simular to a hostel! There is no restaurant for dinner but Cardiff offers plenty of choice and the prime location of this hotel makes it a great place to stay.
We were attending a Will Young concert in the Cardiff Arena which is literally just across the road!
