Just had a cruise with RC, to the Canaries, for the second time and I loved it! Couldn't find any of the 'pub grub' that has been mentioned. All the food was great. Yes, ship was busy at time but couldn't fault it. Shows great, ship great, crew great - everything great. Can't wait to go again
Will recommend it to anyone that asks!!

Expectations of fantastic entertainment were replaced by shows not fit enough to grace butlins
Some evenings there were actually no shows at all just a film played in the theatre.
Oh and the "Proffesional" ice skating show, well they fell in to a crumpled heap on three occassions once crashing into the protective wall.
The food in the dining room was superb just what we expected as was the friendly service.
The staff on the whole were fine apart from our room attendant who ignored us the minute he realised he was only being tipped by the adults and not the child.
The ship was very clean throughut no complaints.
The top deck was so crammed full of beds you were siting on top of everyone if you managed to get one early enough.
The pools were too small and you were not allowed to jump in either.
The flow rider and ice rink was often not available especially on excursions days.
The cost was unbelievable for example selling bottles of water on excursions for 4.55 dollars (77p in morrisons) 2 packets of m and ms in your fridge 7 dollars all drinks way to dear.
Rooms were a joke (inside cabin) no room to swing the prevebial cat tripping over each other not enough drawer of hanging space.
Ive never wantd to come home from a holiday so much in my life a waste of £5500
And a short answer is no way would i ever set foot on this or any ship ever again

Ok I just dont think the guests care about how much the ship crew work to get this ship spotless they dropped ice-cream on the floor, littered, stains on the carpet the people simply dont care.
Food:
Brill, best food I ever tasted and i wasnt just the same food every day youve got lots of different restaurants like Romeo and juliet, Kinglear, Windjammer Jade, Portifino And and Chops loads of food, Mint.
Staff:
Really kind and helpful couldnt be any better.
Entertainment:
I was never bored You had so much to do like Florider, The wall, Golf so much fun.

£1.300.
The room was clean and spacious and all staff were courteous and very helpful.
The food in the main dining room was usually cold and the menu repetitive. The self service food was slightly better but it was difficult to find somewhere to sit.
The Chops Grill was excellent but we had to pay a $25 cover charge to get decent hot food.
The cost of he drinks were astronomical. I paid $19.95
for a vodka an two baileys. The cost of the soft drinks in the outside bars were equally expensive. P&O
ships charge half the price for drinks than this greedy company.
The cost of shore excursions had to be seen to be believed. We paid £126 each for a trip to Florence and Pisa and £97 each to go to Rome. Both of these trips could have been made on public transport for a fraction of the cost.
We had to pay $11 each for a shuttle bus to take us to the port gates, how ridiculous!!
The entetainment was good.
This company was out to make as much money as possible at every opportunity.
There was no food available on the decks as this was not chargable, but plenty of bars. How convenient.
Nearly every person I spoke to on the ship was unhappy about all the thinga I have mentioned.
I have cruised many times with many companies and this is the first time I have ever complained. RC need to re valuate their prices
before they find themselves unable to fill their vast, over priced ships.Once was defenately enough on this money-making machine. Next year.... well not Royal Carribean.I will also be writing to their head office in Miami to complain, but I won't be holding ny breath for a reply, after all, they have had my money so why should they bother.

Staff/Entertainment; the cruise director Graham Seymour is a top class act in himself, if you want to do a cruise and have a laugh with the cruise director look out for an itinery with Graham hosting it - you will not be disappointed.
Food was ok in the windjammer cafe - always someting to suit your taste, you did have to fight for a seat though!!! Main dining was of a good standard and cant complain with regard to food preperation and staff.
Ship was always being cleaned with hand gel dispenseres everywhere.
The down side........
Over run by unsupervised kids some as young as 5 and 7 as parents abandoned them to do their own thing - a real menece and very annoying. Cost of drinks was a disgrace even the soft drinks package was expensive at 94 dollers for two adults.
Sailing from Southampton is a never to be repeated excercise as it is 4 days of your holiday with bad weather - really bad on the way back - people were feeling sick it was that rough.
Complaints heard but not dealt with on board to anyones satisfaction - they just want you out of the way - not good at all.
Now for the excursion - a real rip off charging 11 dollors each to transport you 4 minutes in the shuttle bus, ships text says a 20 minuite walk!
Every excursion is overpriced but you are limited in time at each port to do any distance travel on your own.
This is a ship and company that just sucks money out of you at every opportunity, so know what you are getting into and accept it is going to cost you lots of money on board. If you like a drink expect 10 to 15 pounds for two drinks!
We would cruise with RCI but not in the MED - those kids were a real pest.

The cleanliness is outstanding and they are constantly keeping it clean. The only time we saw a mess was when some unruley child threw a plate of food in one of the lifts only for people to complain about the crew for it - how unfair! The staterooms were cleaned twice a day and our aft balcony was cleaned daily. We do have to say that it was the most comfotable bed we've ever slept in and the stateroom attendants can not do enough for you.
The pool decks were crouded at times but there were enough beds for all if you were willing to look for them. Yes they were close together but it was nice to socialse with other people as the majority of guests on board were really friendly. If you don't like being around children there is an adult only pool and plenty of places on deck where the children don't go. The men that walk round with the drinks were a godsend as it saved you getting up and in no way did you feel compelled to tip them. However, there is a tip box on the bill should you wish to do so. The drinks were the same prices as in most hotels and city pubs however the measures were twice as big so you drink less.
The food was as good as any top class restaurant and the service was friendly and efficient. The Windjammer did get quite busy at times but there were enough seats if you looked. The food was lovely and catered for all. On reading some of the bad reviews on this I feel that some people forget that this is there for the convenience and flexibility of the families. You can go to the main dining room to be waited on for all three meals of the day should you wish. Between the Windjammer, Cafe Promanade and Sorentos Pizza food was available all day, room service was free apart from a small charge between midnight and 5am. My advice is to take the My Time Dining as then you were not restricted to evening meal times.
The entertainment was excellent and yes they did show films on two nights but that was due to there been a parade going on in the Promanade so all the singers and dancers were doing that. If you didn't fancy that you could go to one of the other show bars where they have family fun and entertainment, go to the casino, or chill in one of the many bars. They was always something to do and something to suit every taste.
The shore excursions were expensive but it's to cover the cost of the coach booking and the tour guides. We only went on the trip to Pisa, every where else we made our own way. You don't have to pay for the shuttle bus you may walk the small walk (apart from Livorno)if you wish. You pay RCI for this but all money is given to the ports shuttle service. Please remember the ship is a floating hotel and is not responsible to pay your shore travel for you. We read on one site that when you are tendered they will not take disabled people - this is not true as we had wheel chairs on the tender that we were on.
Would we sail on this ship again?.... we booked for next year whilst onboard as it was the most relaxing and enjoyable holiday we have ever had.

first impression of ship, jaw dropping large!,Embarcation smooth, car compound only 200 or so yards away.
Stateroom adequate, with fridge stocked with chargable soft drinks etc, tea making facility, but no coffee! or milk only cream. beds very comfortable, safe, in wardrobe, no trouser press, small bathroom tiny shower.
We dined each night in King Lear. service, food very good, what you pay for and expected on a cruise,Three formal nights, most people made the effort, though not all!
We had breakfast each morning in Windjammers, beware of waiters trying to sell orange juice, its free to get yourself! [ one RCI's rather devious ways of getting extra money!
Its a rush in the mornings to get a table
,this takes away any luxury feeling, we tried one night eating in here it felt like a cheap package holiday. Snacks coffee/tea can be got 24/7 from pizza place and cafe in the promenade
Entertainment especialy the ice shows very good[you have to obtain tickets for these or you will miss em!
They charge for the shuttle buses to get you off the quay on about 5 ports [ another stealth charge. trips very expensive very rushed, we went to pisa it took less than 3 hours. also the monaco/monte carlo trip again overpriced rushed. if we had paid for all the trips for all of us it would have cost the same as having another passenger!
The spa treatment charges add on a further 15% charge,it felt like R.CI's vat!
Getting sunbeds was a challenge, once got ,
you were tormented by overpriced cocktails which very few people bought.
free ice cream at sprinkles, kids were wasting it throwing it about.
Good holiday for young familys, but too busy at times, which takes away the luxury element of a cruise, with everybody trying to find seating both after dining and other times during the day, took away the relaxation which is expected on a luxury holiday like a cruise
The stop at barcelona was a full day but it was a sunday, all shops shut! there was to many port stops, if less maybe there would be more time to explore. This problem probably exists on all cruises
we would be looking at stoppage times if we went on a cruise again
all in all, it was a very expensive experiance, without the "wow" factor we thought this kind of holiday should deliver. Perhaps a smaller ship would give a more sedate and luxury feel to it
