When we arrived on the Thomson Dream on the 25th May 2010 there was a foul smell it lasted the full week. There was a leak in the theatre, leak in the dinning room ,toilets was blocked. lifts out of order people was being sick with the smell. One day the jaccuzzi water was brown. worse ship I have been on, 480 pasengers have now put in a complaint. and would like a refund I am waiting for their response. The captain acknowledged that there was a problem but still at the end of the cruise these still hadn't been rectified.

On boarding the Dream on 25thMay we were disgusted by the smell of sewage but hoped when she sailed it would go. We were to be disappointed. The whole first week it was sickening. There is something seriously wrong with the plumbing but of course she is an old ship. We had a few problems with no water, Then dark brown water coming through the shower. Luckily we were on 7th deck and things were not so bad up there. I did feel for the passengers who were in the really bad areas. I think this ship should be taken off the sea until the problems have been rectified. You go on holiday to enjoy yourself and you pay good money for the privilege. Thomson Dream - more like a nightmare for lots of people I'm afraid.

The cleanliness, that could be seen, is very good, it was the unseen and the smell that spoilt our holiday. We were originally given cabin 6131, it smelt of raw sewage and seemed damp.My wife has a stomach problem, I needed to get her off the ship, or into a better cabin, but the ship was fully booked, fortunately we were given cabin 6019, as the two week occupants, wanted to go into a hotel for the 2nd week.
We found that the smell, was around most of our week, but the entertainment/ship's staff were excellent, the food was poor for a Thomson Cruise, compared to the Rembrandt (2 cruises) Destiny, Calypso, Emerald, we found all these cruise were excellent. Maybe after October 2010, the Thomson Dream "WILL BE"

I booked to celebrate my 40th birhday and my wedding aniversary in style aboard the New 5* luxurey liner.

Once you board you are hit with the very strong sewage smell, i didnt no any better and at first thought it was the norm as i have never cruised before.
had to find our own way to cabin as there we not many staff around, once we entered our cabin we were met with a very loud drying machine, our carpet was wet through.
You suddenly realize that this is not the ship that was promised and payed for, the furniture was stained marked and dowdey, i rang my travel agent and she advised the best she could..
The sewage smell remained with us the whole two weeks, had a message from captian and a letter from the director stating that the sewage smell is not a health hazard.
My toilet for the first week was either, flooding, no water or not fushing, shower water, hot, cold or any.
Corridors flooded, continuous wet carpets, the jacuzzi two men were practically pulled out as something black was leaking into it, the swimming pool leaked flooding corridors and cabins, it was that bad that a woman called the BBC, one person called a meeting and several hundreds of people attended.

The safety breafing was a disaster, due to weather conditions this was held in the theater, there was no one around to guide us on were to go what to do ect, the 2nd week however was completely different, there were staff at every staircase, every door and every isle.

The tea and coffee was always served luke worm or cold, the selfserve rest, had plastic cups and plates.

This ship should never have set sail until ALL problems were sorted also if Thomsons had no intentions of renovating/refurbishing it they should have let all customers no.

Talk about a nightmare beyond nightmares....we booked and travelled in May on a ship advertsied as being new for 2010...far from it this 'ship' should have been scrapped long before now....sewerage stenches throughout the whole 'ship'...hours waiting for any form of service to rectify the problem...unhelpful arrogant staff who didnt give a damn...all we got were forms and more forms to fill up and return to them...still nothing solved only afte going to reception numeruous times did the matter eventually get resolved....stinking sewerage ship hell.

Thomsons have failed to respond to our concerns and only recently sent email asking us to send in YET AGAIN the same info sent to them via the 'reps' and through travel agent....not acknowledged or sorted 3 months later!!!!

Have got advice so for tose of you from Ireland and who booked through a travel agent...be advised you can claim ALL monet paid back from travel agent as they are liable under 1995 legislation and laws (visit http://www.consumerconnect.ie/eng/) OR CONTACT THEM DIRECT

You can also then go to the Small Claims Court if you paid less than €2,000 for the whole thing and do not b afraid to do it!!!

Thomsons are nothig short of gangsters and crooks for providing this typ of 'service' and should be hauled in through the courts for it and thsoe in the UK who also endured the misery that is Thomsons, go to you local authority Trading & Standards Office and formally lodge a claim against them.

Enough of us suffered now let enough of us do something about it!!!!

Due to volcanic ash we were transferred on the Thomson Dream over night from Palma to Barcelona, I'm only giving a review of what an overnight stay was like. Rooms were very nice, clean and comfy! The ship staff were helpful to begin with but then became a little bit over powering, you couldn't carry a plate to your own table without them trying to give you some help, I totally understand if someone is incapable but being a fit adult I don't expect help with a plate. In the evening we arrived on the ship, the food was average, and queues were outstandingly long, outside on the deck was a burger and hot dog stand which I rate 100%. In the morning, again the queue was long again, and by the time you got food, it was cold, as we had a long day of travelling ahead I expected a good bite to eat but there wasn't a lot to choose from. Overall I think this ship would have been better if the food was better and the staff weren't too over powering. Also I cannot rate on board entertainment as their was none because we were only on over night. OH AND! BEWARE HOW BIG A GAP THERE IS BETWEEN EACH STEP, AS THIS COULD CAUSE SUCH A TERRIBLE ACCIDENT, I FELL UP THEM OVER 5 TIMES.
