HI all hoping to visit the Algarve in October half term, we are looking to hire a pool (heated ) with a villa .
Have never visited Portugal before , we are hoping for a relaxing holiday with swimming in the pool, some beach time, days out and touristy shops .
My son is a fussy eater and will be wanting English style food.
when I have been looking at villas they all seem to be near to golf courses, we would not be interested in this and just want somewhere for the above, can anyone point e in the right direction please
To be honest I would say either the Albuferia area or possibly Vilamoura. I think everywhere else will be too quiet by October. Bear in mind that most villas are slightly outside of the towns so you will maybe need a hire car or use cabs. If you want to walk to things you might be better off trying to get a large multibedroomed apartment.
Not sure about a villa but food is up my street. you say your son is a fussy eater, well most food cooked on the Algarve is done on a BBQ done plain and simple it is only when you ask for it with Piri Piri sauce on it that it becomes hot. There are not many places in the world were you can eat fish for such a cheap price and this is done on a BBQ as well, Soups are for the most part home made and the cakes are lovely.
