the unpacking gets done whatever time we arrive- I loathe it and have to get it over and done with. Then its a shower and a drink( if its late enough ) or a wander round the hotel and getting our bearings.
We usually get to the hotel mid-afternoon so I unpack, 'Sir' recovers from the journey, then shower, a drink at the bar and out for our first meal!
Day arrival - argue over beds, try out TV, unpack swimwear and suncream (they're laid out ready on the top inside one of the cases), send kids (water-confident teenagers) down to the pool out of my way, unpack everything else and then crawl onto a sunbed with a well-earned drink
Then the holiday can start.
If we arrive at a reasonable hour, it's dump the cases and have a quick explore of the accomodation. As soon as we get back to the room though I have to unpack, as it drives me nuts watching hubby and the kids rifle through all my carefully ironed packing to get what they want Everyone then has their own pile of stuff and I can relax and get on with my fortnight of chilling
If it's in the middle of the night- open the case, take off any make up and fall into bed. If it's in the day, have a quick look at the room to decide what's going where, unpack everything I've brought while hubby lies on the bed flicking through the tv channels. Then it's slap on the suncream, decide which cossie to wear, don hat and glasses, pick up beach bag and off to the pool!!!
once that job is done then straight down to the bar order our first drink and on the sunlounger for the rest of the day catching lots of rays !

check the bed linen & towels are clean and that kind of stuff
then the wife unpacks, and i sort us a drink out
Unpack and then find food and drink
if afternoon, find food and drink [as it means we would have been travelling since before 4 am] then back to the room a couple of hours rest, shower and Dress for dinner
if evening shower change find bar then get a snack [cant eat full meal straight after arrival]
WE don't do night flights
wizard
the wifes just reminded me
Unlock room go into room and straight over to open the curtains then out to check the view on the balcony, regardless of what time we arrive. It's a ritual to us Then bed if it's late night or unpack anytime else.
That's reminded me. One of the first things we do also is check out the balcony (view, size, furniture, lighting).
WE get there at about midday so its get key for room cases in to lift with wife&child while i walk up the staires (hate lifts) open door and go straight to balcony to see the view then unpack pick the beds (i get last choice) then off to the pool for a great holiday
Checkout room....check the curtains property loses a star in our eyes if its got wonky curtains and its amazing how many properties have. If its sunny when we arrive it straight down by pool or beach to chill as we have probably been travelling for over 20 hours....the unpacking can wait till later.
usually arrive early morning roughly 9ish, as soon as we have the key to room , open the curtains and open the balcony doors, check out the view, then its into the bathroom to check that out , unpack , get changed and a walk around the hotel get bearings of whats what. Then its out for a walk something to eat and drink .
Depends on the arrival time but if it is during the day, it is a case of dump the cases, check out the view from the balcony and then head to the bar for a welcome If it is later at night, we dump the cases and then head to the bar for a welcome , the view can wait until morning
I always like to get unpacked first and get organised. I suppose it really depends when you arrive. We usually tend to arrive mid afternoon so by the time i have unpacked its time to get showered ready for dinner.
